The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.

Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.

The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.

🢒🢒 minato The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.

🢒🢒 souji The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

Clown god #2~ where are you?

[ 45 always lives in the Velvet Room anyway, so she knew about the fridge incident... She's has a small pouch in her hands. ]

[tarotcards]

[ the fridge incident is so sad... souji is just cleaning up in the kitchen because he has given up on the cleaning strike because it was making him go insane, so he's back to his tidying business. ]

Clown god #2 is in the kitchen.

[ he calls out as he scrubs the stove. ]

[ 45 makes her way to the kitchen, while hiding the pouch behind her back. ]

I have a surprise for you~

[tarotcards]

Oh? What is it?

[ he stands up straight, looking at her. he has the urge to tilt to the side like a kid to peek around her to see, but he resists. ]

[defragment]

[ 45 brings out the pouch to the front and opens it. Here is another captured Waraji for you, Souji. ]

[tarotcards]

[ he peeks inside and immediately, he smiles. ]

To replace the fallen Waraji-kun.

[ he takes the bag. ]

Have I told you yet that you're quickly becoming my favourite?

I have fun watching them too. I can see the appeal.

[ Little thing skittering around the cats and stuff... it's more of a creepy cute thing, but still amusing nonetheless. ]

Anyway, you want to hear hopes and dreams? I hope you're not expecting much out of me.

[ souji turns towards the sink and opens the bag, letting the waraji out and go running around in circles in the sink. it can't climb out so it just runs around, screaming in this hell. souji will move it later. he then turns back to 45 with a small chuckle. ]

Any hopes and dreams are good. They don't need to be these big elaborate wishes.

[ LMAO the poor waraji... 45 peeks over at it before facing Souji. ]

I hope to one day leave this place, while alive. None of that twisted "I can leave if I die" stuff. My dream is to die however I want.

[ ... ]

That is to say, I don't want to die. It's the opposite. I want to live. I always want to live. Not many get to choose how they want to die, no?

No, though it'd be nice if we could choose how to die. I'm sure it'd be a lot easier for people if that was the case.

[ if the waraji could understand what 45 was saying about choosing how to die, it would agree. it's like a panicked sim in the sink :( ]

[ She hadn't really thought of them too seriously, but they're not a lie at least. 45 hands over her omamori after digging it out of her sleeve. ]

[ he takes the omamori and summons out malphas. is he allowed to take malphas' hands? he wants to hold them. ]

Have you been having any troubles with Malphas? Or with the Shadows?

[defragment]

Hm, no. Not at all. Malphas is still being good and he's still a little too weak to tackle on the Shadows without anyone's assistance, but he's still learning. I know he can do it.

[ Yup. Malphas will give Souji his bony hands. ]

[tarotcards]

[ Souji takes those bony hands, shaking them once and smiling. He nods at 45's answer while looking at Malphas. ]

Keep at it. I know you'll get stronger.

[ He then sends Malphas away. He holds out 45 her omamori again. ]

There you go. If you ever want to look into making Malphas more powerful, let me know and I'll see what I can do for you.

[ 45 is about to take the omamori back, but before she can, Malphas is strongly urging Souji to be let out because he does want to get stronger. Aside from messing around with 45 and hanging out with her, he's vowed to protect her and the one time when he tried, he got owned by brainwashed Nekogami pretty badly. It happened a month ago in Terry's dungeon, but it still hurts him and became a driving force in his motivation to improve himself. He wants to tell Souji that he wants to get stronger to protect 45, and if Souji can sense that from the omamori, that's what he'll feel and hear. ]

[ Souji can indeed sense what Malphas is feeling and with that, he hesitates to give back 45 the charm. He takes it back for a second, summons Malphas again, then hands the omamori. ]

Find me whenever you want Malphas with you in the Velvet Room. I think he'd like it if he can stay and keep you company even in here.

[ And then whenever they want to do a extra quest that Souji personalizes, it'd be easier when Malphas is already around. ]

But Personas summoned by you are different from mine, aren't they? He was completely different when summoned by Minato.
