Many centuries ago, this land was watched over by the tengu who protected a tiny village as the people settled and made their place amongst the mountains and forest. Of the several guardian daitengu ruling the land, a younger kotengu began vying for power, secretly gathering followers and granting strength in exchange for support, wishing to see his people thrive and expand their reach rather than settle for simply living. Not wishing to see the village split and war amongst themselves, the daitengu took a stand against this betrayal and reminded their people of old folklores of the demonic nature of the kotengu. In fear, the villagers came together with the daitengu to drive out the kotengu and imprison him; this prison will come to be known as Hirajiro.
Character are brought into their world by a cry of help, to learn more about the circumstances surrounding this world and decide for themselves who they will side with. Each night, darkness falls upon the world and the characters must come together and work with each other if they wish to survive, discover the truth, and make a stand.
