Name: Cardia Beckford

Canon point: Mid-game; after leaving London/while returning to Wales
Age: Physically in her late teens, in actuality about 2 years old
History: In a steampunk version of Victorian England, Cardia's father, Isaac Beckford, was London's greatest scientist and alchemist, a genius who created many inventions that propelled the country to be one of the most industrious and innovative of the world. One day Isaac tragically lost his family, and he slowly turned mad with the thought of trying to bring them back. He created hundreds of homunculi in an effort to clone his children, and the current Cardia is the only completely perfect homunculus he managed to create of his daughter. He powered her with a mysterious stone called the Horologium, and then mysteriously disappeared, leaving her alone in their family home in Wales. Two years later, Cardia is still there, purposefully isolating herself so she can't hurt anyone with the poison that her skin secretes as a byproduct of the Horologium's power. She doesn't know she is a homunculus, much less anything about her father's past-- the only thing she remembers about him is that he'd commanded her to never leave and to never love anyone. Cardia would have stayed in that house forever, but the world famous gentleman thief Arsène Lupin one day comes along to steal her away from Wales, just as the British Royal Army is about to try and capture her. Together they escape, and from then onward, Cardia is taken on a whirlwind journey to discover just exactly what her father was and is planning to do, meeting new comrades and enemies along the way, and slowly, slowly learning what it's like to be normal.
Personality: Due to her short life and self-imposed exile, Cardia is infamous for being sheltered and a little slow on social cues-- the best examples of which are when she started stripping in front of Lupin to show him the Horologium set in her chest, and needing to be told straight out by other characters that she might be in love. But ever since she left Wales, she's shown that she's a quick and eager learner, as evidenced from her picking up the specialized skills that the Lupin Gang have taught her, and learning how to be friendly with the few women she meets in the game despite her past trauma with killing her adoptive mother figure. Her sweet and innocent face hints at the gentle girl within, but since she's still figuring out how to express herself, she often looks serious and unperturbed in a way that better matches her determination and focus in any task she undertakes-- and thanks to the wild personalities that she's found herself befriending, sometimes a bit of her fiery Welsh passion can peek out as well. Though she is patient, because she is still learning, she often finds herself stumbling when she doesn't understand something as quickly as she'd like, and in these cases can become self-conscious as she seeks the help of her boys to guide her through her misunderstandings. Above anything else, Cardia is a person who always treasures other people's lives above her own, and will (sometimes recklessly) try to protect them from harm, especially if that harm is her poison, even if that other person may be doing her harm.
CRAU: N/A
Powers:
Poison: The Horologium byproduct that Cardia's skin produces. Most anything that touches her skin will immediately melt and burn upon contact, and it can cause the air to turn lethally poisonous if she is forced to stay in a closed and contained space for an extended period of time.
Strength, Durability, and Stamina: The Horologium acts as an infinite power source for Cardia, so she is surprisingly strong and sturdy, and never gets tired when she's doing anything physically strenuous.
Inventory:
Poison-proof Clothes: These clothes won't melt when she wears them. She has two outfits-- an elaborate dress that was given to her by her father, and a more mobile shirt and pants outfit that Victor Frankenstein coated in a serum. She wears poison-proof gloves with both outfits.
Suitcase: A suitcase given to her by Arsène Lupin. The few trinkets she has from her life with the Lupin Gang are all in this suitcase, and include such things like photos, lockpicks, books, extra poison-proof gloves, and London maps.
Sisi: A Pembroke Welsh corgi with one mechanical leg. The Lupin Gang's mascot.
