Age: 15
History: Sasuke was raised by a ninja family alongside his twin brother, and as such comes from a very strict household. When his mother died he fell into depression and was no longer able to keep up with the demands of his family or the bullying he faced at his brother’s hands, leading him to repeatedly run away from home until he found himself in a void that seemed to house an ancient snake kami. The snake let him stay with her for two years, and he was able to determine that her power allowed her to “lock things away” - from memories to sensations to even people such as himself, effectively making it seem as though those things had never existed in the world. One day he noticed the snake spirit was watching a girl around his age intently and idly thought that it would be easy for the snake to take her if she really wanted to, only to realize the snake did by causing her to fail her tests and have no where to attend school but the Morimori campus upon which the snake’s spirit still resided. Blaming himself, Sasuke enrolled as a student and took it upon himself to make sure that the girl, Neko, not only stayed in the school but also had the best high school experience she possibly could. As the school was intended for magical animals, his twin brother Yuusuke had been tasked with infiltrating and removing any students who seemed like they could cause problems for humanity were they to gain the ability to transform and integrate into human society. Yuusuke found Sasuke and Neko to be especially problematic as humans and set about trying to chase them away through various machinations, though Sasuke defended Neko against them time after time until Yuusuke convinced Neko to pursue her affections for Sasuke. Not feeling like he deserved to be loved and knowing his brother must have had a hand in making her think that way, Sasuke tried to flee to the snake spirit once more, knowing that she was disappearing soon and that if he had her lock him away, he would disappear with her.
Personality: Sasuke is extremely depressed with a low self-esteem, to the point where he doesn’t believe he deserves any respect or love and seeks to help people from behind the scenes so they don’t have to acknowledge his aid. Due to his brother’s bullying, he’s closed himself off emotionally so as to not show weakness, and as a result his emotions tend to appear muted at best or nonexistent at worst. He blames himself for practically anything that needs blaming and tends to defer to others’ feelings even at cost to himself - he will let people think of him as an enemy if it helps bring them closure, or avoid them if he knows they don’t want to see him around. He hates himself and doesn’t always take care of his own needs (such as eating or sleeping properly) especially when stressed, and has even had the snake spirit lock away his feelings of pain, heat, and cold so he can endure even more.
