The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.

Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.

The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.

🢒🢒 minato The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.

🢒🢒 souji The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

Not the house you're staying in? It's fine...

[ So they're gifts, it's clear enough to see that, and he leads the way through the portal into the clothing store Sasuke specified. Up near the front by the registers is a little table of grab bags, but in looks pretty crowded with the number of housewives already in front of it, poking and prodding at the contents to try and determine which ones might be the best without opening any of them.

Sasuke's going to have to fight the housewives to grab bags for himself. Ganba, Sasuke. ]

[He sure is. Luckily, he's a pretty slight frame.]

[And off he goes! Who knew ninja training would be used to find a good way into a crowd like this?

It's going to take a few tries to get all the bags, although he does grab two snack bags early on, and he leaves Kurou as guard/playmate for Minato if he so wishes.]

[ Go, little ninja, go...!

Minato appreciates the company, and crouches down on the side playing with Kurou's paws in the meanwhile, keeping an eye out for Sasuke to make sure he's still somewhere in the mob and hasn't gotten trampled yet. ]

[Eventually, he comes out victorious with All The Bags! Huzzah.]

[ This is more labor than he had expected to do, which means helping would have to be out of the goodness of his heart. Okay... Minato lets Kurou go, and takes almost all the bags from Sasuke, because despite appearances, he's even stronger than Terry is and can handle this much. If he made Sasuke carry everything and Sasuke fell halfway to the checkout counter, Minato would have been liable to just leave him lying there, so this is safer for everybody. ]

[Oh... wow. He's being especially helpful today. Is it the promise of snacks...?

Anyway, he'll get them paid for and try to take a few more back because feeling useless sucks. Off we go home?]

[ Now Sasuke knows the secret to motivating Minato.

Rather than making the trek all the way out the front door, Minato cants his head towards the bathrooms in the corner behind the registers, the door to the girl's bathroom— the closer door— glowing bright blue. It'll lead straight into Sasuke's room in the Velvet Room, and stepping through it one more time will bring them inside the Black Can house's living room. ]

[Ah- Sasuke follows the silent directions, walking through the door once then twice - and now they are back.]

[ Minato fingerguns at Sasuke, and he's going to eat these snacks and then sleep on the sleeper couch and be unconscious for the next two days. ]

[ Whenever he sees Sasuke again, because he'll definitely be asleep by the thirty seconds it takes for Sasuke to deliver the bags to each door, he'll let him know his favorites from this bag then. It's stuff like those cone chips you stick on your fingers, little jelly cups, and those mushroom shaped cookies with the chocolate cap. ]
