The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.
Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.
The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.
→ VELVET ROOM ATTENDANTS
The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.
The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

We're preparing to take on the dungeons. What do I have to do for healing items that will help keep people alive in there?

That depends. Are you going with Souji or me?

The tactic will differ depending on your team. Souji's strong and his Persona's attack oriented, while he's good at keeping an eye on people and healing as needed. If you go with him, he'll likely play both fighter and healer, so items are just extra weight to carry. They'd be pointless.
[ Relatively, anyways, cumbersome compared to healing spells. On the flip side- ]
For me, my Persona is good at defense, but I'm not going to micromanage the team, so people have to look out for themselves. If you want to take on a healing role so others can save their time and energy, someone's still gotta protect you. It's not going to be me. How do you plan to take on battle?
no subject
I'm still not sure which team I want to be on. Toki and Rei can handle healing, and they intend to be on your team, but Toki needs more direction. But in that case, I'm less worried about Souji's team needing extra healing, especially when Kido's with them as well.
Can I do both and get a kit for both teams?
no subject
[ By all means. He does sit back in his seat, though, because he's fought longer with Personas than Rio has, and considers different things when he's acting as the field leader. ]
The reason why I don't normally cover for people is because that's not the most efficient way for me to battle. Given any strong Persona user, if they can both attack and heal, they should primarily attack. A second wasted healing is a second that could have been used to kill a Shadow.
[ He could do his utmost to keep his team alive and heal everybody intermittently, but he could also kill the Shadow and with the threat gone, the pressing need to heal is also eliminated. ]
That's one tactic: have people specialize. In my team, it'd be something like me taking down the Shadows, and Rei keeping me alive- if I kill the Shadow fast enough, she's also safe. Both Souji and Tsubomi are kind people, so they're going to try and do both... If you decide on Souji's team, you're better off talking to him about tactics. If you decide on my team, I prefer you play to your strengths. Be a battler, not a healer.

[No Persona and all.]
What are the requests?
no subject
[ As long as you're strong, you can fight this way too, and Rio's capable of it, he thinks. Having somebody with her strength being delegated to shoving healing leaves into people's mouths is a waste. ]
Either way, I'll give you one kit if you make me a cat toy. I'll give you the second kit if you let me customize it.
no subject
As for the kit request, can do that, as long as the customization doesn't turn it into the dog toy you wanted. What should I make?
no subject
[ He leaves the room to slip in and out of his own, coming back with Dreamer's laser gun that he'd picked up in 45's fear floor. It's pretty big, which is his major concern, but it'll pack a lot more punch than Rio's gun and there would be no need to reload bullets all the time.
For the cat toy, he describes a specific coat pattern, which is incidentally Mitsuya-chan's, Souji's dead cat. ]
no subject
What the heck is that?!
[Like, she'll take it, but????
She is making note of the cat toy too she just has more pressing concerns at the moment.]
no subject
[ That's what he does on his spare time, hang out in the shrine dungeon at midnights, recollect some memories, explore people's fears, generate Shadows, that sort of thing. ]
no subject
--That's definitely not going to work. I can't carry it at all.
no subject
I'll make the medkits super light. Like, with plastic bottles instead of glass and stuff.
no subject
I'll go get started on your toy.
no subject
It can wait. Work out your strategies for teams and prepare what you can for the dungeon first, before worrying about that. The kits will be ready by the time we go. The toy can come after.
[ It's not for him, anyways, so he really doesn't care when it's completed as long as it's before he and Souji leave, whether that's at the end of this month or in July. ]
