The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.

Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.

The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.

🢒🢒 minato The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.

🢒🢒 souji The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

[ Somebody please tell Minato he's supposed to be freezing the burgers for the winter instead of systematically eating his way through the menu twice over, because otherwise he doesn't expect to eat until Terry is full and all the food is gone. ]

More ice cream? Okay.

[overstrain]

No, um... oh, right. [ He gives the change back to Minato. ] More burgers for free. You can put them in the freezer or something so you can eat them later... or you can eat them now.

[ Whatever floats his boat. ]

[ Minato pockets the change and mulls over his options. ]

...I should probably eat them all now. If I put them in the freezer, Souji would eat them. Without defrosting them. It'll hurt his teeth.

[overstrain]

What...? Seriously? Souji would do that?

[ There's several seconds of silence and Terry looks in disbelief when the silence is gone. ]

... okay, never mind. He really would.

[ souji please don't eat grass??? Not even Terry would do that ]

[compendiem]

[ He would definitely do that. At the same time, though, Minato might also do that, if it were one of those non-lethal dominance battles Terry was talking about. ]

...You already got a grasp on how he's like, huh? That's good. Makes things easier.

[overstrain]

[ Eating grass to assert dominance sure is something, Minato... Terry laughs a little. Pinpointing sure is handy... ]

Something like that.

[ Their food arrives and the first thing Terry does is check if all the burgers are correct as ordered. ]

[compendiem]

[ It might be the only challenge Souji would accept, okay? Minato's stomach capacity is pretty amazing, but Souji's is made of steel and can keep anything down. ]

What'd you get for your mystery burger this time?

[ And why didn't he just pinpoint those burgers from before to figure out that they're all spicy. ]

[overstrain]

[ Because Terry only uses it when he thinks about it. :') Someone should tell him to use it more efficiently. ]

... Spicy chicken sandwich.

[ He can't even pin the blame on anything for this, but they really made sure to stuff in something extra spicy. Terry can't believe this, but he can't even go complain. He slides that sandwich over to Minato and eats a normal half pound cheeseburger instead. ]

[ Bro...

Minato takes the sandwich and sets the rest of his spare change on the table. ]

Can I have your other spicy chicken sandwich when you get to it?

[overstrain]

[ Since he already peeked at all of them, Terry slides the other spicy chicken sandwich to Minato. ]

All yours.

[ Then he will resume eating his burger but in smaller bites. ]

[ Hell yeah, free food. Even though he's the one who paid for it, originally. ]

How come you don't like spicy stuff? Is it the runny nose?

[overstrain]

I don't because...

[ ...

When Terry thinks about it, he never really had a good reason to dislike it. He just doesn't. And now that he realizes it, he remembers that his original actually liked spicy food. Cool. One further step away from being like that asshole. ]

Dunno. Maybe because of the way it just lingers with the aftertaste? I don't like pain.

You're in the hospital a lot for somebody who doesn't like pain...

[ Minato takes a bite of his burger. ]

[overstrain]

[ ...

So they know about that too, huh. Terry sighs and takes another small bite out of his burger and makes sure to swallow before speaking again. ]

Being at the hospital a lot and not liking pain are two different things.

[compendiem]

[ yeah ]

It's not a good or bad thing. Just something that happens.

[ Too much, in Terry's case, but still... There's the thought that if Minato were the one out there, he'd be throwing himself at everything with reckless abandon as well. He would've been killed by the chimera first thing, with no doubt in his mind that he would ever lose, because you don't go into a battle thinking you could lose. And he can't lose, because if he does, he's the first line of defense taken down and then everybody else is in danger. His "everybody else" is Souji, so he can't let that happen. ]

Some things are... unavoidable... Others, if you don't do what you do, there'll be more pain later on instead. Is it something like that?

[overstrain]

[ Just destroy everything in your path, Minato. Terry has gotten several revenge matches against chimeras by now... ]

Something like that, yeah. I might as well do all I can, while I can still do it.

[ Being poisoned by drinking blood is just something that's unavoidable, but at least he just sucks it up nowadays. ]

[ I can't wait for whenever the attendants are allowed to go out and kill everything. ]

A glass cannon... That's probably why.

[ He eats another burger. But he's also getting tired of burgers... not tired of the taste or anything, but physically tired. ]

My jaws hurt from chewing so much...

I don't think... I'm that much of a glass cannon.

[ There are some aspects of that he shares, yeah, but at least he no longer gets knocked out from simple things!! Totally. He can probably take Kido's punches a lot more, but he... doesn't want them...

Anyway. ]

You can freeze the rest of the burgers in the freezer. Hide them behind something... I'm sure you guys have several things in there already.

[ Stop doing things that make her want to unleash her fists of fury ]

I guess I can hide them behind the bear meat... [ ...He can't hide anything in the kitchen. It's Souji's domain, he'll find out immediately. ]

Oh well, I'll figure something out. If I can't, I'll just eat them. Still got the munchies?

I don't feel hungry, but...

[ ughhhh why can't cravings stop after he feels full ]

... I'll take two of these burgers. You can take the rest.

[ It's called sugar addiction, which google says is either as powerful as cocaine addiction, or is just complete bs. ]

[ Minato summons Mara, who appears right in the aisle. SORRY, THIS IS JUST THE MOST CONVENIENT PERSONA FOR TRANSPORTATION. Nobody else can see him anyways so it's okay. ]

Help me load him up?

[overstrain]

[ Addictions are strong... Terry almost chokes on the last remaining bit of burger that he was currently eating when he sees Mara pop into existence. ]

Minato... I don't think he can fit through the door.

[ Which, you know, maybe determines the portal size?? ]

Ha... a valid concern. You just gotta guide him in, nice and easy. Lube if necessary.

[ Don't just sit there, Terry. Are you going to help him load up or not? ]

[overstrain]

[ Thanks, Minato. Terry's face is totally red now and he'll get a burger flung to his face for his innuendo troubles. He grumbles after getting up from his seat and gathers the other burgers that are within reach and puts them on the chariot.

He is not talking to you............. ]

[ The burger hits his face but Minato manages to catch it before it hits the floor. How could you miss, Terry, the chariot's right there...

At least Terry's helping instead of stomping out the door. He's a good boy. 10/10 would tell jokes to again.

Anyways, while he's hard at work, Minato unwraps and eats the burger instead of helping. ]
