The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.
Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.
The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.
→ VELVET ROOM ATTENDANTS
The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.
The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

Not people. It was the other animals that had to have venerated her. Not very many humans can even get to the place where the torii was. I think... the only reason I was there was because she took me away from where I was before.

And now you're here. And she's not...
[ Well. He glances somewhere above Sasuke's left shoulder, then meets his eyes briefly before turning them away. Not yet. ]
The rest is up to you, but you know that already. Let's go up to the roof...
no subject
...Sure. Let's go.
[And he'll begin to walk, up and up the stairs to the roof access.]

Of course, it's locked. Minato turns to Sasuke for him to do his thing. ]

You can see the entire lake from here, a perfect mirror with how still it is without any fish or birds or people playing in it. The forest, the castle somewhere out there, mountains in the horizon.
It's nice. Wide and open. ]

What he thinks about all of this, he doesn't offer out loud. But he's silent and enraptured, hands gripping tight on the bars that make the roof feel so much like a jail. ]

Just what out there does Minato want so badly...? ...It's hard for Sasuke to imagine it. But maybe Minato really is the type to desire the world outside of the train, where Sasuke could be perfectly content in complete darkness.
He'll wait in silence until Minato's had his fill.]

There's safety in the darkness. There's comfort in sleep. But he chews at his bottom lip, looking over the world, because it's terrifying and enthralling all at the same time.
He can't even imagine having a life in a world like this, of being one of those people down there on the streets. It's so hard to imagine. ]
...Thanks for bringing me here. [ He speaks abruptly, eventually, without looking away from the world, as if just remembering Sasuke is there and feels a little bad for keeping him waiting, and reluctantly pulls away from the bars to stuff his hands in his pockets and turn to face Sasuke. ]
I couldn't be much help to you, in the end. But thanks for this. For fulfilling my selfish request.
no subject
It was for you from the start.
[The answers to the questions might've been nice, but well. He's getting the impression he doesn't actually want to know them.]
We can stay longer if you want.
no subject
If we stay longer, I'd have you standing here all day and night just watching the sky change. I think I'm okay to do it on my own, now, so we can head back.
[ Even as he says that, the door to the roof glows a bright blue, a portal back to the Velvet Room. ]
no subject
So you'll leave again on your own sometimes?
no subject
[ And that's maybe the sticking point, having it be an area where he can just be, undisturbed by any of these other people who are his Guests.
As interesting as seeing the world was, though, man he misses his couch, flopping face down onto it face first the moment they make it back to the lounge. Maybe he can convince Souji to drag one of these couches onto the school rooftop. ]

Do you want me to take you to a part of the town sometime?
no subject
[ (:
He's going to continue pushing this agenda until Sasuke can give him something ]
no subject
[...Have one.
...
Maybe he should just scope out a place and
liecall it good.]no subject
[ Just find someplace you like!!!! Even if it's just a little bit, it's better than not having an opinion of anywhere else, and thus qualifies as a favorite. ]
no subject
I guess... I'll head back to my room for now.
[Smooth escape.]

Minato buries his face in a throw pillow and gives Sasuke a muffled ] Bye.
