The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.
Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.
The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.
→ VELVET ROOM ATTENDANTS
The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.
The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

Thanks. Maybe I don't "need" you, but... I like you, so I'm going to keep you around anyways.
[ Minato "six girlfriends" Arisato is greedy and wants both ]
no subject
[ maybe someone who would occasionally cook for him and all that. ]
no subject
[ Minato's got your back, Souji. The fourth wheel can cook for all of them. ]
no subject
[ all three of them can cook while minato just reaps in all the rewards. ]
no subject
[ Souji gets somebody to cook for him and so does Minato. ]
no subject
[ uh huh ]
Anything else I should keep in mind when looking for my new soulmate?
no subject
[ But that's lower priority than the first three. ]
no subject
[ include patience in there to deal with souji's nonsense. ]
no subject
[ laughs, patience is absolutely something people need in order to survive the Velvet Room ]
no subject
[ he's gotta brush up on his pick-up lines, something like the me-n-u one. ]
no subject
Mm, that's fine. Can't rush these sorts of things, anyways. You'll find the perfect person out there for you, Souji.
no subject
I'm sure I will.
[ he nudges minato with his shoulder, still leaning against him, before he pulls back. ]
Why don't you get some sleep? I'll clean up and get ready for our camping trip.
no subject
Minato barely gets a nudge back before Souji pulls away, but it's enough and he has to stifle a yawn in the crook of his arm just at the mention of sleep. Yeah, heading to the lounge to crash now. ]
Sure. I'll work on being well rested so we can spend more time doing stuff instead of waiting for me to wake up.
[ It's not just him being lazy while Souji does all the work, Minato's sleeping for good reasons too... ]
no subject
[ he'll push back from the counter and move to put his bowl and chopsticks in the sink. he'll grab his apron and start to put it on. ]
Sleep tight, Minato.
