The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.

Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.

The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.

🢒🢒 minato The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.

🢒🢒 souji The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

[ you're welcome. he just continues to sip his tea, hiding his smile behind his mug.

The forest? We're not exhibitionists, you know.

[ honestly, souji was thinking about the other way around. ]

[ it's still a little strange to refer to the "marriage" but hey, he'll just play along. ]

[ oh, he wasn't expecting such a straight and honest answer. he's taken by light surprise. it's nice that someone seems interested in them. he lets out a small amused breath and puts down his mug. he's finished his drink. ]

We're not fighting. We don't really get into any arguments.

[ maybe it's because of souji's patience and how he could sometimes be a walking mat or because minato doesn't care that much about what happens, but big blown fights aren't really a thing. probably. ]

We get along rather well, which is good since before we met you and the others, we were the only ones on this train.

So it was kinda like you had to get along anyway, but it turns out that you two get along better than you expected? Heard it was a lot of years on this train... do you guys never get bored?

[ This a demigod clone, who's supposed to know all the thing that could happen when one lives a long life, but compared to the others, he's just a baby at 21-years-old as opposed to like... a billion years old. ]

Mm, I don't know about Minato, but I was... content. I wouldn't mind spending another thousand years in here with him.

[ he recalls how minato said the same thing to him earlier but he still wonders if minato ever gets bored, either of "this" (life on the train with nothing new) or of him. ]

[ Damn... Terry stares at Souji for a second. ]

Wow, that's so romantic of you. I bet Minato would be at a loss for words if you told him that. Unless you already did...? That's basically a proposal!

You think so?

[ hm, he supposes that it does sound like a proposal. it's kind of like that one line: "i'd like to have your miso soup everyday" or something like that. ]

Minato said that to me a little while ago, that he wouldn't mind another thousand years with me. Maybe he's more romantic than I thought.

[overstrain]

[ Terry makes a face. Minato... a romantic... what?
