The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.

Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.

The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.

🢒🢒 minato The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.

🢒🢒 souji The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

[ Thanks for telling Minato where that bento is; the bag is sitting next to him so he removes his foot from Souji's face so he can grab it and clutch it to his chest. ]

[ souji rubs his cheek free from whatever dirt that got stuck on it and he inches closer, hand outstretched. ]

Yes. He deserves it more than you.

[ ..........actually, it's true, no matter how Minato thinks of it. Red definitely deserves the food more than Minato does, and Red could use it more than he would too. So, reluctantly, Minato lets go of the bag, though Souji will have to grab it out of his lap. ]

Try to throw it gently so it doesn't spill everywhere when it hits him on the head...

[ oh, that's a bit surprising. souji doesn't reach over to take the bag. ]

...Red needs to eat, but he doesn't. That's so weird. But I bet if food drops out of the sky and there's nobody else there, he'd eat it instead of letting it go to waste.

[ Operation Feed Red: hurl food at Red from the mountainside so he won't know who it's all coming from ]

[ he supposes that's true. he is pretty concerned about some of the guests and whether or not that they're eating properly. at the same time, the chances of throwing it over the side and having it land anywhere near red are low. he wasn't actually going to throw it out in the first place anyway... ]

I'll bring him a fresh one later. It's not good to give someone an old bento.

Then, I guess I'll have to eat this one so it doesn't go to waste. But let me throw the next one you make.

[ No hand deliveries, Souji. Minato's pretty set on throwing; he has good aim. ]

[ he won't throw it off the mountain but he's going to harp on this. minato put his foot to his face!!!!!! that deserves something!!!!!! ]

[ ...Minato stares him straight in the eye as he opens the new bento box, picks up a tempura shrimp, and tosses the entire thing in his mouth without breaking eye contact, without even using the chopsticks. ]

[ ... and then souji moves in to squeeze minato's cheeks with one hand, trying to prevent him from chewing or properly swallowing. this is exactly what you do when a pet, like a dog, puts something that they weren't supposed to in their mouth. ]

[ It would be so easy for Minato to pull away, but instead, he just sits there and lets his cheeks be squished. He can hold this food in his mouth forever. Their entire camping trip can be this, and Minato won't break first. ]

[ so this is how it is... just them sitting while minato's cheeks are squished and souji refusing to let go... but with his other free hand, he'll go and reach for the other bento to confiscate. ]
