The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.

Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.

The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.

🢒🢒 minato The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.

🢒🢒 souji The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

[ Is 45 calling him fat..... Minato reaches up to place a hand on the top of his head, because he can make himself feel better telling himself 45 means this. Souji doesn't really play with his hair, and Minato barely looks in a mirror or does anything more to it than run his fingers through it if he needs to comb it, but it's soft and thick. Weird, petting his own head, so he stops that and goes back to hugging his cushions + clown outfit. ]

[ Oh. I was so ready to accept Minato being fat, it wouldn't be surprising since all he does is eat and sleep. ]

Hmm... yeah. Most people like to surround themselves with multiple companions. You're okay with just one?

[ A lazy one, who isn't anywhere near as cool as Malphas ]

[ Honestly yeah... maybe he just has high metabolism. What a terrifying power, to be able to eat whatever you want and not get fat. ]

Of course, clown god. Whether it be one, two, four, or zero, sometimes things just are.

[ Sometimes things just are. That's how it is, isn't i? Sometimes, you just have zero friends, and a person who is bound to you by fate and you've been taking him for granted this entire time. ]

Yeah...

[ He lets his eyes slide shut, trying to go back to sleep again now that he's got his cushions back and he won't be kept up wondering where all the other cushions went. ]

[ Que será, será, Minato...

45 keeps petting his head. Maybe running fingers through his hair again would help him relax and fall asleep faster.

Hey, clown god. You don't got a ringleader here, do you?

[ Petting him will help him fall asleep, but talking sort of has the opposite effect. ]

Depends on what group you're talking about. Between me and Souji, there's somebody above us. Dunno who, though, so it's a mystery.

[ He lifts a hand to gesture vaguely towards the door in 45's room, but because his face is pressed against the cushion, he's a little off the mark. ]

Out there... each dungeon's got a boss. Gotta get to the very end to see who it is. For the Guests... I don't think they're united yet. Want to be the ringleader?

Wow, working under a boss that you don't even know sounds like it sucks. How do you even get paid? Or get instructions relayed to you? Do they come to you in an ancient mail in the form of paper?

[ I imagine paper mail is obsolete, but not handwritten reports. ]

But no, I don't want to be a leader.

[ At least, for people who she doesn't care about. ]

It sure sucks. No payment or instructions or anything, but we don't really need that stuff. We're "Attendants" and you are our "Guests." We're supposed to help you with whatever you need, and the payment is... I dunno, watching you guys grow, or whatever.

[ He's been watching for a while, and everybody started off bad and became worse, it looks like. It kind of worries him, but he can't do anything about it unless somebody comes to him. ]

There's lots of individualistic people in your group. Probably... you'll be fine without a leader. But you can't really "lone ranger" it out all the time, either.

[defragment]

[ She almost laughs when Minato talks about the payment. It definitely doesn't sound worth it. ]

Oh, I don't plan to be alone all the time if that's what you were thinking.

[ She looks like that type, doesn't she... though she probably would be if manipulating people wasn't her thing. ]

[ She's hanging out with Minato rather than all those other guys outside, so he sort of assumes she's that type. But it makes him smile a little, hearing her say otherwise. ]

Right. You'll always have Malphas, so you won't be alone.

[ You don't need friends, just Personas ]

Except when I'm in this place. Even if you're the one who summons him, he won't feel the same.

[ She's only guessing though, but she thinks that's how it works. Kinda like how her dummies look the same as her but will never be her. ]

Yeah, place is kinda...

[ Separate. Like how Hirajiro is separate, the Velvet Room is a second layer of separate. It's hard to explain, so Minato doesn't. ]

But you're right. He won't feel the same, 'cause he'd be coming from me instead. Outside, you, me, and Souji could each summon Malphas, and each one would be a bit different.

Would he be lethargic and sleepy when summoned by you?

[ She already noticed Personas being what they are, a reflection of a part of them, which she did notice in Malphas. It was actually kinda creepy at first, and it made her unsure, but she's over it now, because, well... it's not so bad. ]

[compendiem]

Maybe.

[ It's always a possibility, and Minato can't deny that the vibe he gives off is lethargic and sleepy. If he weren't wearing his uniform, he could easily be taken for one of the zombies out there on the street. ]

But it depends on what's going on. In a place like this with nothing to do, he'll probably be calm. Bored, probably. That'll change if he's out on the battlefield and allowed to mercilessly cut everything down. The same goes with people, after all.

[ Even Minato can be ruthless if things called for it, it just never has. ]

You're a sleeping beast, whose powers are only contained by the sleepiness in a relaxing space. I see, I see. Sounds dangerous, but interesting.

Yep. If you ever see me outside of the Velvet Room, better watch out.

[ It happens every time he goes outside, it seems. Falling 2304985794 meters in the sky or eating atomic hot burgers or whatever. Super dangerous, but mostly to himself. ]

[ She can't help but laugh a little at that. Minato reminds 45 of her squadmate, but unlike a certain someone, she only sees, at most, several similarities between them and gets a better idea of how to handle Minato, even if they aren't the same people. She was always a sleepyhead, whining about when she couldn't get enough sleep or when is it time to sleep. It was always sleep sleep sleep, even though there was a good reason why she was like that. Maybe it's like that for Minato too. Who knows. But she's also the one that can demolish enemies in record time, whether it be a solo attempt or eliminating mobs.

They're both sleepy monsters, and 45 almost snorts in amusement. ]

Sure, sure, clown god. I'll keep that in mind.

[ She's gotten used to the Junes theme by now and just strokes Minato's hair to coax him to sleep. Well, it's more like 45 letting him sleep now because she's all done with her questions and he looks like he wants to sleep now more than ever, so.
