The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.
Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.
The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.
→ VELVET ROOM ATTENDANTS
The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.
The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

Don't worry. My Persona resists physical so it'll be fine. Plus, that's assuming that you can even land a blow on me in the first place.
[ he has a clearly teasing tone as he says the later. it's less cocky than it is just joshing around. also, he's done with putting away the tea and cleaning the mugs so he starts to motion for terry to follow him out so they can go to the supermarket. ]
no subject
[ Despite that, it still sounds pretty exciting to Terry--not the losing part, but the fighting part. He's still a maniac...
Anyway, he goes to follow Souji. ]
Besides, you guys can make weapons, don't you? Are you gonna make all kinds to test them out?
no subject
I'm just exaggerating. As I've said, I've never fought so I don't know.
[ he just knows that his persona is strong. also, he could keep on joking around, but he doesn't want to scare off terry. he's actually kind of interested in trying out his persona in a friendly spar so he doesn't want terry running off, but he won't because he's a maniac. ]
Anyway, that's kind of time-consuming. Maybe if I don't have anything else to do, but that still requires materials, so probably not. I'll just practise using whatever we make for you guys before we hand them off.
no subject
[ He sees how it is, Souji. He sees how it is. ]
Well, I don't mind, as long as they're not in bad condition. Anyway, when I think I'm ready to spar, I'll let you know.
no subject
Pick up whatever you want as well. It'll be my treat.
no subject
[ Since he still has to be the breadwinner of his lonely house. I hope Kido and Rei can survive without him in October because who's gonna pay for everything when he's gone??? ]
Thanks though. Do you like adding twists to the usual recipe?
no subject
Sometimes. After cooking the same meals over and over again for years, you start to get bored and try new things.
[ he'll go around the market and pick up things as he goes, though he carefully examines everything he gets, especially with the produce. he'd like to get the good quality stuff and get his money's worth. ]
How do you like your pasta? I'll make it to your tastes.
no subject
Terry can understand that. He keeps that in mind when cooking for the Attendants too, mostly because of Minato's tastes. ]
I like savory the best.
no subject
Savoury, huh? All right, I'll see what I can do.
[ hmmm, sure, that seems easy enough. he's made pasta before so it shouldn't be that hard. ]
Go and grab some chips and ice cream for desert. I'll meet you at the cash registers.
no subject
Terry nods and gets chips and ice cream, then walks over to the cash register. He wonders what kind of pasta Souji would make... and he looks forward to it. It's definitely a lot better than staying home alone. ]

[ souji finishes grabbing the ingredients that he needs while also getting some extra groceries so he can have something to cook for minato across the next few days. his basket is pretty full by the time he walks over to the registers and meets up with terry. ]
Did you get anything good?
[ let him judge what kind of snacks and ice cream you got. ]
no subject
Terry got the Japanese equivalent to this, some melon flavored pocky, and a pint of haagen-dazs, strawberry flavor. ]
... This should be okay, right?
no subject
[ strawberry is a good flavour. maybe souji will indulge himself and have a little bit as well, but like he's said countless times before, eating isn't that big of a pleasure for him. he can live without it. anyway, he moves to the cashier and begins to put everything on the belt so he can check out and start to pay. he'll pull out his wallet, a very simple and plain one without any personal touches to it, and watch the register as it gives him his total. ]
You can rest on the couch while I cook or go for a walk. It shouldn't take me long to finish.
no subject
[ He kind of wanted to watch Souji cook, but he also feels tired. Maybe a 10-minute nap would suffice. He yawns while covering his mouth. As soon as they go back to the Velvet Room, he's gonna pass out on the couch.
Feel free to fast forward! ]
no subject
[ souji tries to make the pasta to terry's tastes, occasionally trying a bit to properly season it as he goes along. a delicious smell quickly begins to fill up the velvet room and the smell will get stronger as souji fills up a plate, bringing it over to the couch that terry passed out on. ]
Rise and shine, Terrence.
[ he calls out as he sits at the edge of the couch, right by terry's feet. he has a tray of pasta with a glass of the tea that terry made earlier. he'll nudge a foot if terry doesn't wake up. ]
no subject
Damn, that smells so good... I can't wait to eat it.
no subject
It's all yours. I have extras in the kitchen if you want some more, but if not, they'll be Minato's dinner for later tonight.
no subject
You're not eating?
no subject
I don't tend to eat, especially my own cooking, so it's all yours.
no subject
Terry gets a spoonful and shoves it into Souji's mouth. EAT IT!! ]
Don't leave me to be awkward by myself!
no subject
How is eating by yourself awkward?
[ he leans backwards because no, he doesn't want the food!! ]
