The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.

Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.

The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.

🢒🢒 minato The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.

🢒🢒 souji The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

[ he still speaks with his arm over his eyes because he's so distraught and upset. also, clown god #2 doesn't even bother him. only his lost waraji does :( ]

Or he did, but not in the way that I hoped.

Oh? How do you fulfill a request, but not end up doing it properly? Isn't the point to do them all properly?

[ it's buried out near the castle :( souji will occasionally go to pay his respects. ]

Yes, but he found a loophole. Or rather I wasn't specific enough.

[ he lowers his arms and looks at 45. ]

I asked for a Shadow, but the guest brought it in without its claws and eye, so it was useless to me.

Oh, so it's like bringing in parts instead of the whole thing.

[ She understands. Naruhodo. There was a request like that, huh. ]

If you lead the way to the third floor, I can catch a bunch for you.

[ souji looks at 45, suddenly like a surprised little kid. ]

Really?

Of course~

[ She hangs out in the Velvet Room way too much, so seeing a depressed Souji would lower the morale a lot, even if he sucks it up with the next visitor. She's gotta do her parts too. ]

I don't see why not.

[ 45 is now probably his favourite visitor. this is why souji refuses to stop undressing in front of terry. this is his punishment. anyway, souji finally sits himself up with a small smile. ]

[ She will continue to be the pseudo attendant that confuses everybody... yeah. ]

How strong are you, clown god #2? Strong enough to steamroll everything in your path? Please show me.

Mm, maybe not as strong as clown god #1, but I can take care of myself.

[ he doesn't mind admitting that minato is stronger. it might be true anyway. ]

I'm out of practice though, so I may need your help.

[ Though she only says that in jest. It's fine to joke around every now and then, right? She makes her way to the Velvet Room portal, looking back to see if Souji will follow. ]

[ souji is following, letting 45 lead the way. he hasn't stepped foot in a single dungeon so he doesn't know any directions. he'll just look around like a tourist while she's being led. ]

It's true. It's not often that I have to fight. The closest thing I get to a battle is trying to make sure that clown god #1 doesn't leave a mess.

[ ... yet souji loses that anyway because he's always cleaning up after minato. ]

Plus, I'm like a lost lamb. I don't know which way's up and down in a dungeon.

[ 45 laughs a little. ]

That's not very Attendant-like to say~ where will you be if you're suddenly seen as unreliable? That's no good.

[ They arrive at the second floor now. There's a ton of wolves and bears... ]

Mind clearing them out for me?

Then I'd be able to finally take a break.

[ he laughs a bit as well. if he's unreliable, maybe minato and everyone else will let him relax for a bit, but okay, look at those wolves and bears. souji doesn't even bat an eye. he just summons izanagi-no-okami and fires off some large agidynes. that's more than enough to get rid of them and bring in some warmth on this chilly floor. ]

Mm, they're not as cute as Warajis.

Do you like small things?

[ 45 summons Malphas to get that one stray Arctos that's near the hole with some Frei. Blue nuclear explosions!! ]

Hm, what do they call that... a minicon?

[tarotcards]

[ this poor floor being destroyed by everyone just throwing explosions around. ]

"Minicon", huh? There sure is a name for everything, but that sounds about right.

[ maybe the reason why he likes minato is because minato is small. anyway, he'll start approaching the path to lead them down to the forest. ]

It sounds a little more respectable than siscon.

[ Terry's the one throwing molotovs everywhere on this floor, so. Yeah. Minato... small............ ]

Are you a siscon too?

[ She has a sister, but she can't relate to being a siscon. Sorry, dude. 45 also makes her way to the third floor. ]

Let's see... Malphas, here.

[ She gives him a small bag. ]

Try your best, okay?

[ The freakishly tall half crow demon nods and goes off to find Warajis excitedly as if he's a kid going on a treasure hunt. ]

Perhaps. I have some vague memories of a little sister.

[ but is it the level of a siscon like terry? hmmm, he's not entirely too sure. he'll just have to regain more memories of nanako and when he gets incredibly overprotective of her while also bending to her every will. anyway, he looks at malphas and how he goes off following 45's instructions. ]

It seems like you get along with your Persona. He listened pretty obediently.

[ unlike some OTHER people here in hirajiro. ]

Malphas is a very good boy. He does his best and tries very hard not to let me down.

[ She isn't a slave driver either, like Terry once was. 45 is nice to Malphas... they even went trick-or-treating at the school together where Malphas was a sheet ghost. But I can't mention that here since this day is before Halloween. ]

[ oh no, that's so cute... malphas was a sheet ghost. i'm absolutely dying. ]

That's good. Having a positive bond with your Persona is important. It'd make it easier for you to summon him and let him help you.

It's a shame that I still can't summon him in the Velvet Room. Even having him as a companion is great.

[ She's sometimes strolling through town with Malphas by her side too. She really does handle the Persona thing a lot better than the people here...

Anyway, Malphas comes back. Even though he has the bird mask that covers his face, his body language expresses that he's very excited to bring back the pouch that has things squirming in it. 45 tells Malphas to cast Dia on himself because those grass and stuff are sharp. With a simple command, he hands the bag to Souji.

Three Warajis, all unharmed. ]

[ souji smiles at malphas' body language. what a cute persona... maybe he'll summon malphas for 45 in the velvet room so she can have her companion... but souji takes the bag and opens it just a little to peek in. yes, there are indeed three warajis in there. ]

You just might be my favourite guest.

[ 45 giggles. Malphas looks pleased to know he did a good job. ]

Let's hope that a Guest is all I'll ever be~ let's head back.

[ he nods and they head back! now souji can play with his warajis and he'd be so happy... they'll now be running around in the velvet room, except for one of them because that one got killed in the unfortunate fridge incident... ]
