The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.

Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.

The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.

🢒🢒 minato The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.

🢒🢒 souji The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

[She's been healed by Minato and now has cute clothes courtesy of Terry. Time to make a good impression on the other attendant and try to score herself a place to sleep for the night!

So, this time she seeks out Souji, peeking around the Velvet Room until she comes across him.]

Um... hello?

[tarotcards]

[ souji's sitting in one of the rooms, using the desk to write things into a notebook when rio comes on by. he shuts the book and turns in his chair to greet her. ]

Rio. It's nice to meet you.

[ too bad that he only knows her name and persona and not what she's really like... ]

What can I help you with?

[toybombs]

[She gives a soft gasp at that.]

You... You already know who I am?

[Worrying.]

[tarotcards]

Of course, I know all of my guests. I wouldn't be a very good attendant if I didn't.

[ no worrying on souji's end, just a warm smile. ]

[toybombs]

[HM.]

W-well... Terry said that if I wanted to stay here, I should ask you about it.

[So now she is.

Please let her sleep here, for she is poor.]

Oh?

[ so terry is just marketing this place as a free-for-all, huh, thanks. ]

Well, of course you can stay. We have a room on the train just for you, after all.

[Oh! She smiles in relief at that.]

Thank goodness... I was worried I wouldn't have anywhere to sleep at night.

I don't know how comfortable your room will be for long stays, but it'll always be here whenever you need it.

[ and souji will clean after it because he's just that kind of person. also because there's not much else to do around here. ]

If you're hungry, I can get you something to eat.

Yeah, I have some free time.

[ it's not like sitting in this room, writing things in his notebook is going to help pass the time away. he might as well do something productive and nice for someone else. cooking is not really a problem when he's doing it for another person. ]

I'll see if I can cook something up. What do you like?

Yeah, pasta isn't a problem. I just made some a little while ago, so just let me know how you enjoy it and I can put something together for you.

[If he actually does it well he'll be her new favorite so it's not a total loss?!]

[ but what does being her favourite come with? what are the bonuses, dani ]

Sure. If you wait in the lounge or your room, I'll bring it over to you.

[ or she can come to the kitchen with him, but he doesn't know if she'd like to wait and watch him cook.

[The benefit is she actually enjoys spending time around you for the food. And maybe social linking?]

I can watch. Um, I'll stay out of the way, though!

[Because she doesn't trust him not to poison her or anything...]

[ he'll put away his notebook in the drawer and get out of his chair, pushing it properly into the desk. he'll then lead her towards the kitchen, where it's absolutely clean. having all this free time means that he can deep clean everything and ensure that there's not even a speck of dust left behind. ]

Why don't you tell me about yourself while I cook?

[Scurrying after like a good timid child who definitely has done nothing wrong in her life ever.]

I-I suppose, but it's nothing very interesting...

Um... I'm a student. I go to Tsukiomi high school in Tokyo.

Everyone is interesting in their own ways.

[ and souji likes to listen to people so no matter what rio says, he'll be a good sponge. ]

Tell me about your school. Is there anything you like about it?

Well...

[She has to think about that for a while.]

One of my friends goes there. But we don't get to spend much time together.

[tarotcards]

No? Different classes?

[ he's talking as he puts on his apron and gets to work. focused on his work, he won't face rio as much while he talks, but he'll certainly talk and reply. ]

[toybombs]

We're in different classes, plus she's really involved with the track team. We don't have a lot of time to hang out.

But she's really cool! She's the star of the team, and she's really popular!

Sounds like she has a good friend.

[ with the way that rio talks about her. it's nice to have that kind of support from your peers. ]

How did you meet her?

[They were both told to solve the same murder mystery by God.]

Just around school... we met in our first year.
