The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.

Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.

The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.

🢒🢒 minato The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.

🢒🢒 souji The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

[ People haven't been writing their names on it, so Minato has helpfully filled it in for them. It's fine?? The only people who really go to the kitchen are him, Souji, and Terry. ]

She doesn't sign it, but even if he puts her name to it, she's pretty sure none of them are incriminating. Even if someone saw it, they might assume she's just trying to make herself feel better about being an apparently timid and anxious mess.]

[ It works, and Minato looks really really pleased, especially compared to Terry's answer which he deemed a failure.

He goes ahead and writes Rio's name on the paper, but he can't understand why nobody wants to write their name on these things. ]

This is good. You'll have to give me a day or so for the gun. Is that okay? [ But she'll get the usual prize of soda cans too, which he gets out of the fridge and hands to her. ]

What sort of gun are you looking for?

A pistol would be good. Oh! What should I do for more ammunition?

You just gotta come ask me, and I'll give them to you. It can be special bullets, too. If you want to shoot things with fire or whatever.

...Could you make sedation bullets?

...Like, you shoot 'em and somebody falls asleep? Or they get blown apart but also fall asleep if they manage to be alive still?

Just sedation bullets.

[Hi, she's fresh(ish) from a hospital trip because she had a very, very hard time sedating her friend so he wouldn't kill her.]

...But if you can make separate bullets that can shoot fire or other things, I'd be interested in those, too.

[ Okay, so bullets that won't do damage, but will put somebody to sleep. A smart choice, because the other option wouldn't work on Terry or his Shadow at all, like how Nekogami's dream needles are ineffective. ]

Yeah? It'll come with another cost, for each separate type of bullet. I can do it, but it takes time. How do you want to do this?

I won't ask for anything right now, but... next time you're at the school, can you nab a couple rolls of packaging tape? There's so much cat hair here...

[ Souji has too many cats. There are places a vacuum can't reach and Minato is suffering. ]

[Because she really can't stand to listen to the Velvet Room music all day for an even longer period of time because time here doesn't, she found, match with the outside world.]
