The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.

Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.

The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.

🢒🢒 minato The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.

🢒🢒 souji The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

[ The cats all screech and scatter when Terry does that, and Minato opens his eyes just in time to see Terry tumble across the ground.

...

Minato stands up, goes to the linen closet, and starts to pile more blankets over Terry. Sleep and be warm. Minato's a great Attendant. ]

[overstrain]

[ He is so lost in the blanket... and why is it getting heavier... didn't you just give him a job?! Why are you hindering him like this!! Terry runs here and there, but he just can't get out... ]

[compendiem]

[ It's not midnight yet, so Terry has time to waste like this. It's not like he can go around talking to anybody else, right? Minato steps on one corner of the blanket to pin it in place, and then reaches over to pat the lump at the center of the blanket. ]

You want to get out, right? Then calm down.

[overstrain]

[ Terry calms down and starts waddling all around the blanket at a sedate pace. His tail is wagging because he still likes headpats, no matter how much time has passed and whatever form he's in.

...

He still can't find the exit. ]

[compendiem]

[ Keep calm and do your best...

Minato decides the best way to help is to play a game of find the thimble, but instead of telling Terry he's getting hotter or cooler, Terry gets headpats if he's going in the right direction. ]

[overstrain]

[ It's too bad he doesn't associate headpats with the right direction because he's easily distracted. He seems to enjoy them more as a pom... not that he didn't like them at all anyway. He still likes them a lot. Terry tries to go this way and that, and eventually makes it out!! Amazing.

He attacks Minato's hand immediately with playful bites. ]

[ WOW this is the thanks Minato gets for his help. Instead of a headpat this time, Minato just places his hand on Terry's head and presses it down to the ground. ]

[overstrain]

[ Terry immediately whines and cries when his head is pressed to the ground. He even struggles, but it's just waving his little paws around.

minato nooooooo ]

[compendiem]

[ Minato scoffs and relents, lifting his hand again and setting it back down on his lap. ]

Maybe don't go biting people you're trying to apologize to later.

[overstrain]

[ Terry hops, paws at Minato's ankle and whines a little more while lying down on his stomach. He won't bite people he needs to apologize to!!

... But he wants to hurry up and do it and he can't do that while he's a puppy. ]

[compendiem]

[ He won't bite everybody else, but he'll bite Minato, huh? Though, he supposes Terry doesn't owe him any sort of apology, despite all the physical and mental anguish he put Minato and everybody else through; Terry gets picked up the same way as before, dangling legs and all, and Minato walks him back to Kido's room to plop him down next to her. ]

Nothing you can do but wait. So enjoy what you can, when you can.

[overstrain]

[ They just have that kind of friendship now... no takebacks. Also, I don't think he knows about Minato's pain while his Shadow just killed everyone. 8(

Terry looks up at Minato, sits, and wags his tail. He also whines a little. How does he enjoy being a pom... he doesn't even like being tiny!! ]

[compendiem]

[ Minato won't ever say anything about it and nobody cares, so it'll all be forgotten in a day and won't matter anymore anyways (':

Minato puts a finger to his lips and points down at Kido, who's still asleep. Shhhhhh. She is going to murder Terry the moment he's him again, so enjoy being a pom because Kido won't ever hurt cute little animals but she won't hesitate to put a fist in Terry's face. ]

[overstrain]

[ Wow, 45 cares enough about it at least. :(

But yeah, you know what... Kido could be 100% violent to him and he wouldn't care. As long as he can talk to her again with human speech, he'd take all the hits and stabs. Because there are only few things worse than being unable to get closure and suffering for it for thousands of years out of guilt.

So Terry the pom tucks himself in where it should be the warmest and closes his eyes. It's naptime again with a small whine to thank Minato for putting him here because he can't climb the couch by himself. ]
