The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.
Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.
The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.
→ VELVET ROOM ATTENDANTS
The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.
The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

Tell me everything you know about the door in the castle floor. I want to know where the fuck it actually goes and that we're not summoning some demon lord.
no subject
Well... Four ofudas open the door, and they're each guarded by one of the Daitengu. You guys are already halfway there, and you'll hopefully get your third soon. The door will send people home the same way they came here, and...
[ Nnnn... He's tired. ]
And you don't have any reason to believe anything I say, do you?
[ Jiro's looking for solid evidence, and Minato's just going to disappoint him. ]
no subject
No, I don't... but if this is your run-down here, the same thing that you tell everyone- is that all you know?
[He might have gotten one piece of new information with "the same way they came here".]
Did we come through that door to get here?
no subject
Souji and I arrived here after everybody else did, but that door didn't show up until we— this whole Velvet Room and everything- existed. Some of those guys out there have been in town for a month or so before all that...
[ The timing would be wrong. The door didn't exist at the very very beginning. ]
Also the door is closed, so it's not like you can get through it from the other side.
no subject
[The fuck are these guys the authority on what's going on, then?]
It's a magic door! It could just be locked from this side.
[It was a stupid question, but he's not going to admit that.]
Doesn't fucking matter, though, does it? You don't know shit.
no subject
Yeah. Apparently, it's not important for guiding you guys, so that's not knowledge I was given. If I learned about it in the past, I've gotten that memory locked away too. But they're coming back, and if there's anything about doors, I'll let you know next time you visit.
[ If he ever does again, after learning how much of a waste of time it was. ]
no subject
Your memories are coming back?
[Jiro knows he experienced at least one memory with Terry that belonged to neither of them, and with the talk about mystery memories at the meeting... He should have paid more attention to them.]
Hang on a second, I want to try something.
[He's reaching to fondle Minato's ear.]
no subject
Minato gets his foot up against Jiro's chest the moment he realizes what Jiro is reaching for ]
Ugh... Terrence did that too.
no subject
[Jiro runs through that memory in his head again, and he will assume it was Minato's. What else has he got? He'd seen too many of them and they're mixed up...]
Was there a second castle?
[Something over-looking the town and the lake.]
no subject
...
They're all too confusing, so he just answers the question and lets Jiro follow up on it. ]
No, I'm pretty sure it's just this one. It was pretty run down at the beginning, but it's looking nicer now.
no subject
Alright.
[Jiro has nothing else to ask for the moment, so he's leaving. He tosses another candy at Minato on his way out.]
no subject
But Minato just catches the candy and unwraps it to add to the one he already has in his mouth. ]
Okay. Bye, Jiro.
[ Also the memory is of the school rooftop, if Jiro ever makes it that far. ]
