The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.

Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.

The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.

🢒🢒 minato The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.

🢒🢒 souji The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

[ it was not. that was ichi's goof for trying to send out quick mobile tags while walking, but it's now wishes. let's just say that souji added the wish part since he wants to know more about terry. ]

And I'm glad that you did come back. Minato would have missed you if you were gone forever.

[ because he'd be losing half of his meals. anyway, souji holds out one of his hands towards terry. he's asking for the omamori and not your paw, terry. ]

[overstrain]

Haha, really? He'd probably shrug it off... I can see him doing that.

[ He thinks Souji is asking for his hand for whatever reason, so he gives him his hand.

... what are you doing, Terrence?

You wanted my hand, didn't you?

[ Yeah. Also, he's getting fed up with people calling him by that name, while his original is here, so. ]

... And I want you to call me by "Terry".

[tarotcards]

All right then, Terry, why do you think I wanted your hand?

[ though souji doens't exactly let go of terry's hand. he just keeps it there in his outstretched one. ]

[overstrain]

... I wouldn't know? That's why I gave you my hand!

[ Terry's logic will continue to confuse most people, but he's glad Souji's calling him that now. ]

[tarotcards]

... I was asking for your omamori, but if you really wanted to hold hands that badly, you could have just asked.

[ and now souji will close his hand around terry's. no escape. ]

[ He never minded holding hands with people, because it's not that much of a big deal for him. Terry even swings his hand while holding onto Souji's. ]

You could have just said so.

[ He gives Souji his omamori, which is still just one color of dark red-brown. The dried blood seeped in and can no longer flake off. It doesn't show anything other than the color... ]

[ cute... souji will let terry swing their hands while he takes the omamori with the other. he stares down at it. ]

Do you ever think about covering this up?

[overstrain]

Not really. It's still usable.

[ That's his only criteria lmao ]

[ souji makes a face at terry for a second before he just goes back to looking at the omamori. he summons vassago, who's probably way too big for the train... but souji lets go of terry's hand so he can now cup vassago's cute dragon face in his hands, smiling at him. ]

Keep Terry out of trouble, okay?

[overstrain]

[ Vassago huffs, but you know what, this is fine. He will accept this from Souji and nods. That's what he's here for, after all... ]

I'm not that bad...

[ souji doesn't even reply to terry. he just smiles at vassago and sends him away, making him disappear. he then turns and hands back the omamori to terry. ]

All done. Make sure that you take care of Vassago as well.

[overstrain]

[ Terry takes it back and puts it into his pocket. ]

Yeah! We've been getting along a lot better lately. We're working hard...

[ Such as working on not coming out unless summoned and trying to keep a balance between them. laughs in 11/18 though where Terry shatters Vassago's image into a million pieces. ]

[tarotcards]

I'm glad to hear it.

[ then 11/18 happens and i hope terry comes back to hear the "now you fucked up" song in the velvet room, constantly directed at him. ]

Come back any time you need our help, Terry. Either Minato and I will be here to lend you a hand.

[overstrain]

[ His Shadow came back on the 20th, but Terry kept hearing it too and he started screaming in the Shadow's mind because of it. The Shadow got a migraine lmao ]

Thanks, Souji. I'll always keep that in mind.

[ Unlike most people, Terry likes Souji and Minato... and will probably continue to come because he didn't hear the boss say things, but he'd keep coming anyway. ]

Ah, yeah. Um... one of the memories showed me you guys were having some kind of a bet while you were changing clothes to meet us for the first time? I think... You were wearing that same skirt. What were you guys betting on?

[tarotcards]

[ ah, that was a while ago. after you've been in so long in the velvet room, everyone becomes blurry and muddles together, so even if it's only been a few months, it feels like it's been forever since they had that bet. souji's corner of his mouth tilts upwards by just a bit, being a smile that's barely noticeable. ]

... we were betting whether or not we'd be able to help you complete your journey.

[overstrain]

... Aren't you both supposed to help us complete the journey?

[ ??? Why would you even bet on that if it's your job? Souji? Minato?? ]

[ He lets out a chuckle. ]

Yeah, we are. The bet was more whether or not we'd actually be any help and if you'd be able to complete your journey.

That's funny, because of Minato's tendency to shove everyone to you. Was he the one who bet that you'd be able to help us?
