The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.

Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.

The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.

The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.

The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

[ god, he probably wouldn't actually really want minato to spit in his food because that's kind of gross but he also wouldn't back down from eating it so... yeah, he needs better tastes ]

I also wouldn't mind eating if you just feed me.

[ If spitting on Souji's food and feeding him are about the same level with each other, which does he think Minato would choose? Though, he's going to run out of spit sooner or later, and a dry mouth makes for an unpleasant eating experience, so he ends up biting the head off a hot dog octopus and holding the legs out for Souji to eat. ]

[ he leans in forward again to eat the held out hot dog. it really is nice to be fed. he reaches into the bag to pull out the second pair of chopsticks (he didn't intend on using them. he just figured that he should bring extras in case minato dropped the other pair or something) and takes one of the shrimp tempura. he takes a small bite but holds out the rest to minato. ]

[ If Minato had dropped his chopsticks, he would have picked it up and reused them if it were within the five second rule. He would eat with his fingers if he had to; nothing can stand in the way of him and his food.

When Souji holds the tempura out to him, Minato leans in and— instead of eating it- he sticks his tongue out to lick the tempura and go back to picking up another hotdog. There's your Minato spit, Souji, now you can fully enjoy that tempura. ]

[ i literally said "goddammit minato" out loud because lmfao minato... souji just looks at the tempura, staring at it for a good two seconds, before he goes and finishes it off. well... it's just a lick. it's not like a glob of spit so he can handle this. he'll hold the shrimp's tail in his hand after he finishes then goes back to watching minato. ]

Is it good?

[ Souji likes Minato spit food, that's what Minato learned today and he's going to do his best to spit in every piece of Souji's food from now on. ]

It's good. You can eat the tail. It's crunchy.

[ He's pointing at the tempura tail. Most people don't eat it, but Minato likes textures and it is crunchy. You just have to swallow it after you crunch it. ]

[ souji is most of the people who don't eat it so he'll just hold it out for minato. ]

[ It's about the experience, Souji!! Minato will even lick it for him, if that helps. ]

[ please don't lick it while he's holding it in his palm. ]

Mm, I think this camping trip is enough of a new experience for me.

[ Minato shrugs and leans forward to eat the shrimp tail right off Souji's hand and I guess he licks Souji's palm in the process. ]

[ why... souji will just take his spit-covered hand and wipes it across minato's arm. ]

[ Ew, that's gross. Minato scoots over so he can rub his spitty arm on Souji's arm. ]

[ souji will just reach out and hold minato's head to keep him as far away as possible. he's using his long arms to his advantage. ]

[ No... I guess Minato will just have to wipe his arm spit off with his hand and transfer it to the bottom of his shoe and attempt to smoosh Souji's face with his foot. Souji's arm has nothing on his leg. ]

[ minato............... :( souji will resist but he may just get a foot to his face. ]

Why are you doing this to me?

[ For the same reason why Minato spits in Souji's food: ]

[ Sad that he can say it so easily right now when Souji can interpret it as him joking, but later when it matters, he just clams up. ]

Can I get a refund?

Nah. Warranty's expired, so no refunds on my love.

[ Too bad, Souji. ]

[ he's so sad right now :((((((( he now probably has a foot against his face and he desperately wants to wash both his hands and face now. they need a portable sink... ]

I cook you a delicious bento and this is how I'm treated? This love seems defective.

[ It's fine, Minato can rub some spit onto Souji's face later to clean off the dirt ]

Yeah, it's pretty defective, huh?

[ And yet, he does nothing to change it ]

Maybe it's just a one-off thing. You could make another bento and we can try it again another time to see if it gets better.

There's a second bento in the bag, but that's only for good boys.

[ Thanks for telling Minato where that bento is; the bag is sitting next to him so he removes his foot from Souji's face so he can grab it and clutch it to his chest. ]

[ souji rubs his cheek free from whatever dirt that got stuck on it and he inches closer, hand outstretched. ]

[ ..........actually, it's true, no matter how Minato thinks of it. Red definitely deserves the food more than Minato does, and Red could use it more than he would too. So, reluctantly, Minato lets go of the bag, though Souji will have to grab it out of his lap. ]

Try to throw it gently so it doesn't spill everywhere when it hits him on the head...

[ oh, that's a bit surprising. souji doesn't reach over to take the bag. ]
