The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.
Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.
The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.
→ VELVET ROOM ATTENDANTS
The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.
The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

I'll take the uniform then. Did you work in a circus?
[ Unfortunately, she won't be the one calling Minato "clown denizen" in place of RO, but she could totally call him something else instead once she thinks of something. ]
Would that make this a circus train? It's awfully blue and cheery.
no subject
[ He really can't discount the possibility, when he can't remember shit. ]
This could be a circus train too... But there aren't any lions around, so maybe not. I'll go get some uniforms, if you wait here...
[ It takes some effort to get back onto his feet, seeing as he had his hands in his pockets and refuses to take them out to push himself up or keep balance, but he manages somehow. He'll grab 45 seven uniforms, then she can wear one every day of the week before she has to worry about laundry. ]

She continues to sit on the couch, but the cushion from the chair (footrest), and two more that were covering her legs, now stay stacked on the side of the couch as 45 waits for Minato to come back.
It's an interesting side stop at least. ]
no subject
Here... Anything else?
no subject
Sit here.
[ whichever one he wants. She pats down on the couch space next to her after lifting the stacks of cushions. If he does come over and sit, she'll put the stack of cushions on Minato's lap. ]
It's nice to have a companion. [ Doubt. ] Got an ear picker?
no subject
Not an unused one... But talking loosens earwax and it's sorta the same thing. I'm good at listening.
[ He will give 45 a used ear picker if she really wants one though ]
no subject
[ She wasn't going to use it on herself, Minato... ]
no subject
[ He didn't think she was going to want to use it on him?? They just met. ]
But listening doesn't require much talking. You... probably have a lot of questions?
[ And expects him to do a lot of talking, oh no ]
no subject
[ He seems like the type that would go to a lot of lengths to be lazy. ]
9, 416, 11. Any of them familiar? Let's see... how long is this detour? Units getting dumped into new places is a novel experience, but not a new one to be heard of.
no subject
Yeah, I know them.
[ As numbers... Anyways, he answers that one confidently, but then sort of slouches a little more with the second question, because there's no direct answer he can give. ]
But I dunno how long this detour will last. If you guys really suck, maybe you'll get wiped out by the end of the month. Or maybe you'll keep pushing, and hopefully within a year...
[ His voice starts to muffle as he buries his face in the clown outfit on his lap. He really does not want to stay here a whole year. ]
no subject
[ Seeing Minato bury his face into the clown clothes is pretty funny though, but she'll give him two pats on the back. There, there. She also figures with what flippantly he said that he "knows them" means that he probably... doesn't know what she's talking about. Most people shouldn't, and that's fine, really. ]
Hm, something tells me you're not really human and you're definitely not a Doll. What are you, a god?
[ :) ]
no subject
[ It's sort of a strange combat situation, but that's not what 45 asked and people need to hold onto the thought that this world and everything in it is real and matters.
He tilts his head a little at the pats, so that his mouth and one eye is free to look over at her. ]
What kind of god do you mean?
[ A capital g omnipotent God? Sorry, but he'll have to disappoint. But sometimes gods are just gods because they're believed in and made so. He's not sure what sorts 45 is used to; not that it matters, because he's nothing more than an Attendant, whatever that means. ]
no subject
[ Then she'll pet Minato's head--kinda like how someone would pet a dog. ]
Perhaps the god of this clown train, wherever it is heading to--a destination to nowhere.
no subject
I dunno if god's the right word... I can control some stuff about this clown train, but not everything. Not really the destination, either... whether it's a dead end, a horrible train crash, or nowhere at all, that's up to you guys.
no subject
It sounds like there's nothing but bad ends. Maybe you don't have faith in "us"?
no subject
"Nowhere" is your good end. It's where we came from, after all... Me and Souji, I mean. After this is all over, we'll probably go back to going nowhere. As for you guys...
[ He shrugs. Maybe they'll get to go home. Maybe they'll screw up their chance of going home. Maybe Terry's Shadow will kill everybody and not even give them that chance. ]
How much faith do you have in everybody?
no subject
[ ... There's his new nickname. ]
Jokes aside, I haven't met any stragglers like me yet. But Malphas has been a good boy. He keeps me company; therefore, I hadn't had a single boring day since I came here.
no subject
He's great, isn't he? He's so cool.
[ Just by aesthetics alone, A+++ ]
no subject
He is, but he won't come when I'm here.
[ She's just kinda used to everyone higher up knowing everything, so the fact that Minato says that Malphas is cool despite never seeing him, doesn't really surprise her. ]
Though you're a lot softer than he is.
no subject
I can call him here, if you want?
no subject
Hm, maybe he needs to rest. You're my current companion anyway.
no subject
Hmm... yeah. Most people like to surround themselves with multiple companions. You're okay with just one?
[ A lazy one, who isn't anywhere near as cool as Malphas ]
no subject
Of course, clown god. Whether it be one, two, four, or zero, sometimes things just are.
no subject
Yeah...
[ He lets his eyes slide shut, trying to go back to sleep again now that he's got his cushions back and he won't be kept up wondering where all the other cushions went. ]
no subject
45 keeps petting his head. Maybe running fingers through his hair again would help him relax and fall asleep faster.
But. ]
Hey, clown god. You don't got a ringleader here, do you?
