The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.

Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.

The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.

🢒🢒 minato The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.

🢒🢒 souji The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

Just one side is good enough.

[ Wow, he sure feels excited enough to go on a hunt for these things now! Terry finally gets off Minato's back and sits on the footrest next to him while resting his chin on the heel of his palm as the elbow stands firm from the knee. ]

Is there anything else?

[compendiem]

I have more homework for you guys, but...

[ He glances over at Terry. ]

...don't worry about it. Do what you're good at.

[ Killing is fine, he can already tell Terry wouldn't like Minato's personal request. Or if he does it, it'll be superficial and Minato would accept it, but he's really hoping Terry would come to like Vassago even a little somehow. ]

[overstrain]

[ Minato would be right, but at least there's a small chance of it happening now rather than post-triad death where everything goes to the shitters. Not like. anyone knows that. Yeah. ]

You say you have homework, but you're not giving it?

[ Sounds weird, but he won't pursue it any further than this because he doesn't like homework. ]

But is that it? There were three separate tasks where we had things to collect last time... is the other one from Souji too?

[compendiem]

Not to you. It'd be nice if you could do it without being assigned it, though.

[ He turns over a little, glancing towards the kitchen although he knows Souji is out at the moment. Probably helping one of the Guests or whatever a good Attendant is supposed to be doing. ]

The other's Souji's, yeah. Basically, just... take him out and show him a good time. The world's nice out there. Lots of good in it. He deserves the chance to see it all too, before we leave.

[overstrain]

[ Terry hums a little. He's curious about what the homework is now, but if it's not meant for him, yet it would be nice for him to do it without being assigned it...

Hm. ]

You wanna go someplace too, Minato?

[compendiem]

Uh... Depends on the place. I don't want to hike for a while.

[ He and Souji walked up the mountains and it was a mistake, mountains are a mistake and everything still hurts. His old man bones aren't made for that sort of endurance climb. ]

[overstrain]

Oh right. You went on a camping date, huh. I was thinking about the arcade or the general store, but those can wait if you don't feel like going.

[ He expects Minato to say no, since he's sleeping here all the time, moreso because he got back from a physically taxing trip. ]

[compendiem]

[ Camping date... Minato just nods at that, slow ups and down. ]

Souji would probably like the store. I sorta... want to see your favorite place. Do you have one?

[overstrain]

My favorite place...

[ He thinks about it, and his thoughts unconsciously go to the ocean, even though there is no ocean in Hirajiro, and the lake is definitely not one of his favorites. It makes him think back to what Kido mentioned, that he must like the ocean a lot for him to continue mentioning it. For some reason, it makes him feel a little uneasy. ]

I like places with good scenery, like the shrine during a sunset or sunrise because it's pretty high up and you can look over the trees too.

[compendiem]

But is the shrine your favorite place? Here, I guess. Some place that makes you feel calm and happy.

[ Because he catches on that people's favorites must be back home, where there's fond memories to feed into everything they like about the place. ]

...The rooftop from the school's kinda like that. Sasuke took me. You can see everything from up there.

[overstrain]

Really? I should go there one day then.

[ At least he looks like he can pass for a student there now. ]

A place that makes me calm and happy though...

[ He thinks about this a little more. He likes their new house, even if it doesn't have much in it, but it's really the people inside that make the house feel warm and happy. ]

Uh... the sauna at the public bathhouse?

[ ... ]

[compendiem]

[ ...Yeah, that'd make anybody calm, alright. It would probably do wonders for Minato's sore everything too, though he'll probably fall asleep in the water. ]

I'll go.

[overstrain]

[ ... ... ... ]

Right now? Shouldn't you go with Souji?

[compendiem]

Yeah. Why not with you?

[ Souji's busy, Minato's tired, take him to the sauna that I just now realize is not the same as the hotsprings, I can never breathe in a sauna, it's terrible ]

[overstrain]

[ Is there even a hot springs in Hirajiro... is this the onsen episode now. ]

I thought you'd want to go with someone you're more familiar with. Something something developing skinship and bonds with people in the bathhouse or whatever. That's what they talk about in there sometimes.

[compendiem]

...Is that why it's your favorite place?

[ He doesn't really get it, but you do you, Terry. Minato is here to support developing bonds. ]

[overstrain]

It's calm and peaceful. And it makes you want to fall asleep to have good relaxing dreams.

[ ... ]

I don't care about skinship stuff...

[compendiem]

If you fall asleep in a sauna, you could die.

[ But who cares, right? Calm and peaceful. ]

Skinship's not a bad thing to care about, though...

[overstrain]

No, I mean like... never mind.

[ Terry hops off the footrest. ]

Let's go. Don't forget to bring a set of clothes.

[compendiem]

'kay. Let me change into something more appropriate first. Just a sec.

[ He makes a great show of hauling himself onto his feet and trudging to his room, but he's back fairly quickly. Instead of his usual Attendant uniform, he's not wearing... the same uniform, but slightly bloody, like it couldn't be washed off well enough.

This one's more appropriate because it's going to get all sweaty and gross anyways. ]

... This is more appropriate?

[ Minato?? What have you been doing?? ]

[compendiem]

Yeah. Are you ready?

[ He's got his change of clothes in his arms too!! It's the uniform he was wearing before. His closet is 99% uniforms. ]

[overstrain]

I'll have to drop by my house first, but it's not that far, so it'll be quick. I'll meet you in front of the bathhouse then.

[ Little tykebomb zooming all across Hirajiro like it's no big deal. Vroom. By the time Minato gets out of the Velvet Room, Terry will already be there with his own change of clothes. ]

[compendiem]

[ Minato doesn't know where this bathhouse is!! Terry!!!!!

He just stands there in front of the Velvet Room door in the castle, leaning back against the throne, looking down at the ground and waiting. ]

[overstrain]

[ omg Terry thought Minato would have known by how he threatened to block off the door before, so Terry's also waiting... but he's pretty impatient at times, so he zooms back all the way to the castle after five minutes and just finds Minato standing there. ]

Minato?? What's the hold up??
