The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.
Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.
The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.
→ VELVET ROOM ATTENDANTS
The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.
The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

[ Nothing to see here... ]
no subject
So, what do you normally drink?
no subject
[ He doesn't like bitter foods and normal drinks though... He walks inside while thanking Souji for the open door. He goes to sit at the bar stool and the bartender just looks at Terry like "why are you here again". ]
no subject
I didn't take you as a bitter drinker.
[ but then again, souji doesn't know much about alcohol. hm, maybe he didn't drink that much before everything? ]
I'm not sure what I'd like.
no subject
[ Absinthe again... well, the bartender goes to go make it. Souji's drink will have vodka, cranberry juice, peach shnapps, and orange juice mixed into it, so it's pretty fruity. It'll take about ten minutes to make, so while they wait... ]
It's not like it'll be the only time you come drinking, right?

[ He honestly doesn't care about the law regarding underage drinking, but he knows others do, so. Yeah. ]
I had one, but she turned into a zombie recently.
no subject
[ he doesn't know much he'd care for drinking but he doesn't see the harm going out for drinks now and then with terry. perhaps it could be a fun time as well, so trying to keep the mood light, he'll say this next line with a small playful tone. ]
I'll get this first night but I expect you to get the next one.
no subject
[ Terry smiles and recognizes his attempts to make the mood lighter, so he doesn't want his efforts to go to waste. The drinks are finally here and they get their respective cocktails. Terry's is green, but Souji's is more of a vibrant peach-color.
He holds up his cocktail glass. ]
Cheers.
no subject
[ he lifts up his own drink and takes a sip. he looks upwards a bit as he thinks about the taste. hmm. ]
... it's good. Sweet, like you've said.
[ too sweet for souji's taste, to be honest, but he'll keep drinking it so it doesn't go to waste. he'll turn over to bartender. ]
Two more bohemian absinthes, please.
[ he looks over at terry with an expectant look like "you want another of the same drink, right?" it's fine that they haven't finished their first ones. it'll be a little bit of time for the next batch to come out or they can just chug, haha ]
no subject
You sure about that? It's a really strong drink.
no subject
[ let's go big or go home. ]
I'll get more later.
no subject
[ Terry downs his cocktail fairly quickly. Looks like they're gonna suffer with 90% ABV cocktails very soon. He sighs contently. ]
I thought you'd like something in the middle like cognac or something.
no subject
[ souji's pretty much just going to experimenting with a bunch of different drinks tonight so he can see what he likes. ]
If I get too drunk to walk, you'd carry me back, right?
no subject
[ He's not that mean... anyway, their drinks arrive pretty quickly. It's a lot quicker than what Terry thought, so he looks over at the bartender, who just gives him a resigned look that all he'll make are absinthe cocktails as long as Terry is here. lol. ]
no subject
You're right, it's strong.
[ hmm, he wonders how many it'd take before he starts to feel lightheaded. ]
You must have a high tolerance.
no subject
[ Though he can still chug drinks and still be relatively sober. Kinda. Terry also lifted the glass a little as a silent "cheers" before downing his own. The bitter aftertaste and the way it burns his throat feels so nice. He's sometimes not sure why he likes it so much when he usually doesn't like bitter things. ]
Most people just drink one and they're out.
no subject
[ a drinking contest may begin... ]
no subject
[ you wanna fucking go souji
bring it on ]
no subject
Six more cocktails, please.
[ three for him and three for terry. he glances at terry from the corner of his eyes. are you ready to lose ]
no subject
Hope I won't have to carry your drunk self back to the Velvet Room, being all conked out and shit.
no subject
[ souji is absolutely getting into the character of a cocky older gentleman and he's absolutely having fun with it. he even puts on a slightly deeper voice as he says the previous lines before he takes his cocktail and finishes the rest of it. hm, that sure is a burn and his stomach is not happy with the sudden drop of alcohol that potent but if it bothers him, souji doesn't show it. the bartender (who has probably given up on making any other drink) drops down their six new cocktails. ]
If you ask for mercy, I won't show it.
no subject
[ Terry is really enjoying the situation, and appreciates Souji's newfound cocky old gentleman character. It livens things up, that's for sure. ]
The first one who shows signs of being drunk loses. Mister Bartender will help out, right?
[ Keita, the bartender, just ignores Terry but he has no choice but to overlook two potential rowdy customers for the sake of the health of his business. ]
Let's go.
[ He downs one of his drinks as if it's water. The burning sensation that he's familiar with really settles in well. ]
no subject
[ he takes two of his three cocktails and immediately drinks them both which is... absolutely terrible. his stomach was already revolting at the first one but immediately two more? yeah, it's not pleased at all. he does take a second to compose himself and keep on a straight face. he silently switches over to nekogami for that null poison, but lmfao it can't null everything. ]
Where do you live, Terrence? I'll make sure that you get home safely so you don't have to make a fool out of yourself.
[ ... well, he hopes that terry isn't living outside anymore like a literal homeless person. ]
no subject
Some 4-bedroom house. You won't have to know because that'll never happen.
[ Uh-huh. Terry just downs another cocktail. He has one more left. ]
Mister Bartender, I think we'll need two more.
