The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.
Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.
The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.
→ VELVET ROOM ATTENDANTS
The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.
The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

9/15 - souji
... Souji, are you here? I need to talk to you.
[ He's still tired from how the past several days has been a rollercoaster of emotions, but he looks significantly better today. ]
no subject
Over here.
[ he'll call out, moving to put away his book in a drawer and turns in his chair to face the door. ]
no subject
... Hey. I need to confirm something with you.
[ He quietly takes a deep breath and breathes out slowly, while thinking of how to word this. ]
When I dragged the three here... they were... they were dead, right?
no subject
... yeah.
[ his face is calm, relaxed, not daring to let anything slip through. ]
Why?
no subject
[ Terry can't believe he's saying this. He doesn't know what expression he has on his face right now, but Souji certainly will. He's looking slightly hysterical with a mix of happiness and confusion in there. ]
They're breathing. Alive. In the hospital.
no subject
... what?
no subject
They're... all alive.
[ Terry almost sounds like he's delusional when he speaks and with the recent experience of grief, that... can't be too farfetched. ]
no subject
... when did this happen? The heart rate machines picking up on something?
[ it's been just about two days since they've died, but did they get revived sooner? ]
no subject
[ He says that without hesitation. ]
A steady rhythmic heartbeat... for all of them...
no subject
Have you spoken to the staff? They haven't done anything, have they?
no subject
[ ... ]
I always thought that the hospital was weird, whisking corpses and not putting them straight to the morgue. But something similar happened back in July.
[ Yeah, even when the Attendants weren't around, someone already "died". Nice. ]
I had my heart organ crushed, but the hospital took me in anyway. I don't die from that, so it's been whatever, but they don't know I'm not human.
[ Maybe? Probably? Despite being at the hospital so many times. ]
A hospital that takes in a normal human patient with their heart crushed where it's obvious at first glance is... weird.
no subject
[ "weird" is putting it lightly. he suppose if there's something strange with the animals in this town, perhaps there's something off with the inhabitants as well. that would make sense, since this world itself isn't normal. maybe that's something the guests can investigate. ]
Well, you must be relieved. Your friends are back.
no subject
[ There was a lot of screaming and crying for both Mondo and Rei, but. You know. It's whatever. They're alive. It's all that matters. Yeah. Terry looks pretty tired though. ]
I just wanted to tell you that I've been getting better.
[ There's no usual shine in his eyes though. ]
Since you asked for a weekly update, right? I'm not doing anything crazy either, since you guys seemed to be worried about that earlier.
[ Like leveling Hirajiro out of a fit. ]
no subject
I appreciate that you're keeping your word. Have you been eating? Hospitals don't tend to have anything good to eat.
[ he vaguely remembers overpriced meals or old vending machines with dusty bags of candy. ]
no subject
[ Surprisingly, for his first time dealing with this kind of thing, he doesn't just hole himself up in his room forever and cry until he falls asleep and repeat that the next day. He maintained his house, bought things, walked around, visited the hospital... ]
... And I've been eating at home.
[ You know. Alone. Souji should know that Terry lived with Kido and Rei too. You better bring that memory, Ichi. Or I'm gonna riot. ]
no subject
Mm... it must have been quiet.
[ "and lonely", he wants to add but he leaves it out. ]
But that shouldn't last for too long, once Rei and Kido recover. It'd be something nice to look forward to.
no subject
[ He looks over at Souji, staring right into his gold eyes. It's some hard work keeping his blank, and Souji is doing a really good job of it. But the thing is, Terry thinks he's doing it too well... ]
... Sorry. I shouldn't have brought it up. Are you okay? You look like you're in a bad mood.
no subject
Just have a few things on my mind. You didn't do anything wrong.
[ then he brings out a small smile, a reassuring one. ]
Sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel bad about it.
no subject
[ Though Terry did bring a heavy topic out of nowhere, so he thinks this is fair. ]
Do you want some?
no subject
Sure.
[ he'll get up from the desk and push in his chair. he'll let terry take the lead this time. the box of tea will be in the usual place in the kitchen so terry can choose which type of tea they'll have this time. ]
no subject
Hey, Souji.
[ ... ]
Do you think...
[ His voice trails off as if he can't get the right words out of his mouth and he frowns, because that's exactly the case. ]

Vassago came out again today. I didn't touch my charm. He roared and disappeared.
That's... probably not a good sign, is it?
no subject
No, it's not.
[ he chooses to be blunt, not to sugarcoat anything. ]
I can't imagine the last few days were very good on your psyche, to be added on top of your usual worries about Vassago.
no subject
... Yeah. That makes sense.
[ He momentarily closes his eyes, breathes out, and reopens them. ]
It just keeps getting worse and worse.
