The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.
Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.
The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.
→ VELVET ROOM ATTENDANTS
The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.
The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

[ He's going to lock his knees the entire time so if they crash, he can shatter his kneecaps but at least his knees won't buckle and cause him to fall. ]

Does Terry jump towards the middle of the lake and this is going to end up with both of them underwater, or does his jump clear it completely... ]
no subject
At least the water doesn't get splashed on Minato's face. ]
no subject
Nothing he can do about it now but to lean back and enjoy the ride until it's over. ]

How was it?!

[ That, and a vague hand gesture with the one that isn't taped to the jump rope. It was whoosh. That's what it felt like. He doesn't really know how to put into words the feeling of the wind rushing past his face, cool with the slight spray of water and with his bangs blown out of the way, it's like the world is so much more open— he can't see nor hear as well while going so fast, but it's very in the moment and that's also a rare feeling, to be present and aware and excited.
It's the feeling of being alive.
Whoosh. ]
no subject
Very whoosh and exciting, right?!

[ He gestures down at his feet, by which he means Terry can stand on the skis, not take them, because Minato's not really sure how he's supposed to get his feet out of all of this later. ]
no subject
[ Terry looks so excited at the prospect of water skiing himself, but... wait, does he have to stand right in front of Minato while balancing himself on the logs?? ]
Wait, who's pulling then?
no subject
Vassago.
[ Obviously, you have a Persona who can fly, so shouldn't it naturally follow that the Persona is the one who plays the part of the motorboat and Terry wouldn't have to swim? ]
I can summon him, if you don't want to try again.
no subject
Terry feels a strange feeling well up inside. There's really no doubt that Vassago would absolutely hate being summoned for mundane things like this after they just had a giant fight. However, Terry quietly breathes out and reaches into his pocket for his omamori to summon him because he should get over this creeping feeling in the back of his head.
...
There is no dragon. ]
... I guess he doesn't want to come out again.
no subject
[ Not that he thinks it would make a difference, so he goes ahead and does it instead, Vassago brightening up the sky with a flash of blue light when he appears overhead, wings beating in the air and making waves in the water. ]
Anyways... Go ahead and give him the jump rope, then get on. Front or back?
no subject
Front, I guess.
[ He hands Minato's Vassago one end of the jump rope and goes to try his best to situate himself on the logs. ]
no subject
He also can't see this way, so any steering will be up to Terry. ]
Ready?
no subject
Okay, I'm ready now.
no subject
Lean back a little so we don't flip over.
[ Like that's the problem, and not the fact that the rope is tied to one of Minato's arms and not the other, so they're off-balanced from the very start. ]
no subject
It's wobbling too much!!
no subject
[ It really isn't, and if this keeps up, one of the skis is going to fly out sideways and break Minato's hip or something, which sounds painful so Minato just... lifts that one foot slightly out of the water so they're effectively skiing on one ski, and unbalancing them even more. Because he has the strength to move mountains but decides that keeping his legs together is too hard. ]
no subject
Put your foot down! Minato!!
[ Okay he's screaming now ]
no subject
His shoulder hurts... ]
no subject
[ The rest is muffled underwater as Terry spits out the water that he nearly swallowed once he's above the surface. He feels so gross...
Anyway, he unties the jump rope from Minato's arm, but keeps his own free arm around Minato's waist to hold him up and not fall. He can't help but laugh over how much of a disaster this was. ]

Terry is suddenly Worried. ]
... Why are we still going up...?
no subject
[ Just calm down and let Vassago hurtle them through the air. He won't even let them free fall— if Terry keeps a hold of that rope, Vassago's going to zoom straight down into the water too, disappearing before he can get wet but the same can't be said for Minato and Terry. Like canon-balling in the pool. It'll be fun, probably. ]
