The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.

Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.

The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.

🢒🢒 minato The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.

🢒🢒 souji The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

I'm not gonna tell you if you're gonna be like this.

[ He'll shove his hand in Minato's face. He's gotten used to that look from you, Minato... You don't scare him anymore! Maybe. ]

[ Minato mumbles something but if he can't get the words out on the account of his face being squashed, he's sticking his tongue out to lick Terry's palm, because he's gross. ]

[ but do the Velvet Room Attendants know the taste of cinnamon toast crunch?

... Well, no. Terry only smells like cinnamon. He tastes like any other human out there with decent hygiene. Terry doesn't remove his hand though. Face your punishment, Arisato. ]

[ ...Mara appears besides Terry. ]

[ Between Terry's last thread with Minato and this one, Souji had him get used to Mara a bit more, so Terry is pretty good at ignoring the dick chariot now without freaking out on sight. What summoning Mara actually did is make Terry push him even more against Minato's face and that part he licked? It's a method of wiping it on Minato's face while he's at it.

Maybe you should get new tricks, Minato... ]

[ Exposure therapy is working...! Minato feels somewhat proud about this, not moving a muscle as Mara casts maragidyne and sets Terry's shirt on fire. ]

[ Terry immediately runs to the kitchen once he sees that he's on fire. At least he's not screaming about it...

Good job, Minato. Good job... why would you cast an aoe fire spell in the Velvet Room. ]

[ It's not like he's never set the Velvet Room on fire before, and it's always turned out just fine. Once Terry is gone, Minato lets Mara go in exchange for Byakko to leave icebergs around the room.

He just lies there and closes his eyes as the fire goes out and everything's left all soggy. ]

[ Ew... soggy furniture...

Terry eventually comes back, but peeks into the lounge first. Luckily, the damage doesn't seem to be so bad. He managed to put out the fire on his shirt, so only the hem was damaged, but he suffered some minor burns. No big deal. He slapped on some ointment and bandages around it. Terry knows it's no use just sneaking around because Minato can summon Mara at any time, so he'll just step inside--

Oh the floor is gross... ]

[ There's a healer right here... but okay. Minato opens his eyes again when he hears Terry return. ]

Welcome back.

[ The bag of breakfast bars is gone. ]

[overstrain]

[ Sometimes he forgets that Minato is a healer from how destructive he is.

Terry realizes pretty quickly that the bag of breakfast bars is gone and he just stares at Minato with dead eyes again. ]

Goddammit, I just bought those before coming here.

[compendiem]

[ ...Yeah. Minato just smiles. It's not like he needs to eat or anything, but he likes food regardless and maybe Terry should learn not to bring anything into the Velvet Room that he doesn't trust Minato won't eat. ]

Your clothes are okay? I made sure I didn't get you too badly.

[ Instead, he lit half the lounge on fire. ]

... When I said that you could probably win in two seconds, I didn't mean for you to show me that now.

[ This poor lounge... ]

Just the hem got burned. It's no big deal.

[ He doesn't view the other minor burns as a big deal either, so he won't talk about those. ]

Can I have them back?

[ Are you sure you don't want more of Souji's clothes...? Minato's also got a pair of halloween clown pants that are too big for him but might fit Terry nicely. ]

Hm... I'm kinda worried about your health, you know?

[ Not enough to not set him on fire, but enough to worry about his diet ]

[ minato's such a good guy but he'll pass on the clown pants... ]

It's not like I want to eat those, but if I don't, I feel like I'll go crazy and those are the cheapest things that are satisfying my cravings right now...

[ Is this where the down payment for the house is going towards?? Minato frowns for a moment, and then looks back up at Terry. ]

If I pay for both of us, will you take me out to eat? It can be whatever.

[ The down payment is not to be touched in any circumstances!!! Terry keeps that safe at least... it's really the leftover stuff excluding bill payments. Those are separated too. He can be responsible sometimes...

Terry looks surprised. If it were any other time, he would have accepted that in a heartbeat, but his mind is like "JUNK FOOOOOD AAAHHHHHH", so things are hard right now. ]

I mean... yeah, I can. What's with that all of a sudden?

Breakfast bars can be stored a long time, but take-out can't. Thought maybe it's a fair trade.

[ They can still eat junk food together, but Minato just really needs these provisions to keep him going while he stubbornly refuses to bend to Souji's strike. ]

[ Huh. Terry looks at him for a moment, pondering on something. Souji's still on a strike, huh... well, the deal should be fine then. ]

[ Souji is going to continue being on strike until RO pulls through with a pig lmfao ]
