The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.

Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.

The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.

The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.

The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

[ Minato is in the lounge, face down on one of the couches with his face smothered in a pillow. He waves a hand to confirm that he's in the lounge, but since he's lying down, it's more like he flaps his hand to the side rather than up in the air.

What's up, Terrence. ]

[ The anger, if there really was any, fades really quick upon him seeing Minato on the couch. He goes over to him and sits on his back with his legs dangling off to the side. At least the pillow is already doing a good job in smothering his face. ]

Why did you go and tell Rei that flipping people off was an innocent gesture...?

[ Then he pinches the nape of Minato's neck, because he can and it's right there. ]

[ No, why... The back of Minato's neck is a little damp, either sweat or water, it's hard to tell. But he has to lift his face off the pillow to answer Terry, and the best he can do is turn his head slightly so he's only half muffled. ]

I didn't say that.

[ Not in those exact words, at least. ]

I know you didn't say that in those exact words, Minato.

[ He knows the art of half-truths, boy. Well, he'll get out the scalp massager again and proceeds to the massage the back of his head. ]

Just say that you won't do it again.

I won't do it again.

[ He agrees easily, because the damage is already done (': But he flips over so he can get poked in the eye instead of massaged on the back of the head, and blinks sleepily up at Terry. ]

Did she flip you off?

[ ...

He stares at Minato for a moment before shoving his face back into the pillow. ]

And what was that thing you left at the doorstep the other day...

[ Okay, he's fine being suffocated. He doesn't resist and Terry can focus hard to make out something that sounds like: ]

Stir fry. How was it?

I thought Attendants were supposed to be keeping their Guests alive.

[ He furiously pokes the back of Minato's head with the scalp massager. ]

Yeah, you're still alive...

[ He reaches around to awkwardly pat Terry's knee or whatever's within reach.

And again: ]

How was it?

It felt like I was being burned alive at the stake.

[ Terry grumbles, letting Minato pat his knee... even though it's weird. ]

You know I can't handle spicy food...

Yeah.

[ Yes he knew that, and that's why he sent it instead of just throwing it in the bin. Minato continues to pat Terry's knee, even though it's not as comforting as his head, it's all he can reach. ]

Rei and I made it together. Thought it'd be a shame if you didn't get to try something she was so excited about making.

[ Ugh. Minato really knows where to hit where it hurts. Terry can't find a retort to that because Rei is involved. ]

Gee, thanks. You really didn't have to...

[ Note to self: teach Rei the basic of what not to do in cooking. ]

So, sleepyhead. Got any new fetch quests for me? I guess I can bring you more scrolls if you want those for some reason...

[ Terry has a Rei problem. If he hadn't accepted the Rei reason, Minato had a more honest one as backup, but it looks like he doesn't have to admit it yet, stretching out on the couch until his back pops. ]

"Subjugation requests." It sounds cooler. But yeah, if you're up to killing some ice wolves for me, I'm collecting teeth.

Are we going prehistoric weapons now?

[ His knowledge on ancient history is rather limited, but even he knows that primitive weapons are actually pretty effective depending on their niche. He kicks his feet in the air back and forth while still sitting on Minato's back. At least he's not an adult while doing this because he'd be twice as heavy... ]

[ Maybe this is where Minato remembers Pharos, but even that kid didn't sit on him. ]

If that's what you want me to make. You said you like knives, right? Could just stab people with the tooth itself.

[ Shadows. Stab Shadows. ]

Yeah, I thought about that.

[ Shadows, guys. Shadows!! Anyway, Terry ponders a little. ]

Can you make it serrated? That'd be pretty cool.

[ Minato nods slowly, even if Terry can't see him from where he's sitting. Knives are pretty cool, even if he doesn't use them. It's the aesthetics. ]

Yeah, that'd be no problem. On the entire edge, or just one side? Or just near the hilt?

Just one side is good enough.

[ Wow, he sure feels excited enough to go on a hunt for these things now! Terry finally gets off Minato's back and sits on the footrest next to him while resting his chin on the heel of his palm as the elbow stands firm from the knee. ]

Is there anything else?

I have more homework for you guys, but...

[ He glances over at Terry. ]

...don't worry about it. Do what you're good at.

[ Killing is fine, he can already tell Terry wouldn't like Minato's personal request. Or if he does it, it'll be superficial and Minato would accept it, but he's really hoping Terry would come to like Vassago even a little somehow. ]

[ Minato would be right, but at least there's a small chance of it happening now rather than post-triad death where everything goes to the shitters. Not like. anyone knows that. Yeah. ]

You say you have homework, but you're not giving it?

[ Sounds weird, but he won't pursue it any further than this because he doesn't like homework. ]

But is that it? There were three separate tasks where we had things to collect last time... is the other one from Souji too?

Not to you. It'd be nice if you could do it without being assigned it, though.

[ He turns over a little, glancing towards the kitchen although he knows Souji is out at the moment. Probably helping one of the Guests or whatever a good Attendant is supposed to be doing. ]

The other's Souji's, yeah. Basically, just... take him out and show him a good time. The world's nice out there. Lots of good in it. He deserves the chance to see it all too, before we leave.

[ Terry hums a little. He's curious about what the homework is now, but if it's not meant for him, yet it would be nice for him to do it without being assigned it...

Hm. ]

You wanna go someplace too, Minato?

Uh... Depends on the place. I don't want to hike for a while.

[ He and Souji walked up the mountains and it was a mistake, mountains are a mistake and everything still hurts. His old man bones aren't made for that sort of endurance climb. ]

Oh right. You went on a camping date, huh. I was thinking about the arcade or the general store, but those can wait if you don't feel like going.

[ He expects Minato to say no, since he's sleeping here all the time, moreso because he got back from a physically taxing trip. ]

[ Camping date... Minato just nods at that, slow ups and down. ]

Souji would probably like the store. I sorta... want to see your favorite place. Do you have one?
