The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.
Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.
The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.
→ VELVET ROOM ATTENDANTS
The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.
The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

Morning... What is it?
no subject
Last time when we talked, you said you knew how to make Personas stronger. So tell me how to do that.
[ It's his chance to be a good Attendant...! ]
no subject
What's wrong with what you and Vassago are doing now?
no subject
[ He has to specify or the truth will block him out, because so many things are wrong between them. ]
no subject
[ If he were to solo the dungeons instead of having loved ones drag him down, Minato's pretty sure he can defeat just about anything there. He'd just need somebody to figure out the coins, maybe. ]
Have you ever stopped and wondered why I gave out that homework?
no subject
[ ... ]
Wait, does this require some kind of impossible development?
no subject
[ Maybe for Terry specifically? But Minato hopes not. ]
People get stronger when they work together. It's the same for Personas. They get stronger the more compatible they are with you... In terms of raw strength, Vassago isn't the strongest out of all the Personas you guys have. He could be stronger, but...
[ gestures at Terry's everything ]
no subject
Terry looks a little surprised and tries to find out which Persona that is and. Oh. His information on Nekogami was outdated and now that he pinpointed it, he can't help but to let out a small laugh. Longcat sure is strong... ]
Is that the only other way?
no subject
Hm... There's items and stuff, or I could make him stronger myself, but there's no reason for me to do that for you. If you want to stick with what you're doing, just pick harder fights. Kicking around ravens isn't going to do anything for you guys anymore.
no subject
[ aka he would have left them alone but they come to him anyway, so they all get to die with the rest. fun. ]
I've been killing the Eldritch more often every day when I can go if that counts... I can't seem to get the coins that I need either. I thought I could at least get the one that the wolves and bears were fighting over, but...
[ Well, that failed. ]
no subject
[ Not to retreat, but because it's just easier to ignore them and go about your business, like waving a pesky fly away. ]
What sort of trouble are you having with the coins? Maybe others will have ideas if brute forcing it doesn't work.
no subject
[ It's his lack of AoE--his biggest weakness.
And no, Minato. He needs to kill those flies before they annoy him even more. (ʘ‿ʘ +) ]
no subject
[ Master of brute forcing that Terry is. Minato leans back on the couch, resting his head on the armrest with his head turned so he's still looking at Terry. He's kind of itching to go to the dungeons himself, but RO never took him and he's not supposed to interfere anyways. Maybe he'll take a stroll around the place when Terry's dungeon wipes everybody out next month. ]
...Are you worried about something? Asking how to get stronger...
no subject
[ Terry sighs and leans back on the sofa. ]
It's so that I can solve most Shadow-related problems. I want to one-shot things so no one else has to. I feel like fighting's the only thing I can be reliably good at.
no subject
[ But that's not something important, is it? It is to Minato, but not to Terry. ]
Being strong so you can protect everybody is a good thing, but it's unreasonable for you to fight and nobody else. I mean, you can do it, and make everybody stay home. Things happen, and you can't be everywhere at once.
[ It's not something Minato has to say twice, because Terry's already lived through that. He gets it. Terry wants to be able to take care of everything so nobody else has to— but they have to. Sometimes, it's easier to fight by yourself, but sometimes it's harder. ]
You're plenty strong already. Why not work on teamwork or something?
no subject
When I'm with other people, sometimes I tell them to do stuff so that they won't feel like dead weight, but... that also didn't work out the way I would have liked it to.
[ ... ]
Does that mean I should just carry someone all throughout the Dungeon and only have them tell me stuff without doing anything else? I feel stuck.
no subject
Wow, that's kinda condescending.
[ Which is fine. Minato gets why he does it. ]
Before going into the rest of that... Do you like people, Terrence?
no subject
[ He feels guilty about it, but what else can he do!! That's what he's trying to figure out. He does admit that he can't do everything by himself though... ]
But usually, yeah. I like people generally. Why?
no subject
[ But not a reason. Minato doesn't offer anything more about that, though, and just moves on to a different but related question: ]
Do you think people like you?
no subject
[ Terry doesn't see where Minato is going with this though. ]
no subject
If I were to go to the dungeon with you, and just stand around doing nothing, how would you feel about that?
[ Dead weight, even though he can take care of himself without Terry needing to worry about his safety. ]
no subject
[ ???
Though Minato not doing anything sounds like the standard, so he doesn't really think about it much. ]
no subject
[ He's there to have fun, not to work. ]
no subject
[ Well. Okay?? ]
I wouldn't mind that.
no subject
[ Maybe they'll die, maybe they won't, but if Terry's eradicating everything on the floor either way, it shouldn't matter, right? ]
