The Velvet Room exists between the consciousness and subconsciousness. It is inaccessible by characters who do not wield a Persona or have lost their Persona for various different reasons. In fact, its entire existence is limited only to Persona users and to the regular individual, they will not be able to even see the entrance to the room. Although it is stationed primarily in the castle, the entrance of the Velvet Room may also be found in various different locations, such as by the dungeons and the shrine. Sometimes, there may be a "malfunction" and an ordinary door will actually lead into the Velvet Room. Why does that happen? Well... perhaps characters will have to ask the attendants for that answer.
Within the room, two attendants occupy the space. These attendants act as guides and will perform various different duties in order to assist the characters. They will pass on plot information, answer questions, give out requests (with the promise of a reward, of course), forge magic-infused weapons, heal, and such on. Requests, in particular, are given out ICly and OOCly monthly and may be undertaken by any character who wishes to complete them. Please see the first toplevel of this entry for more information.
The attendants may be regularly contacted by entering the Velvet Room and, as a result, players may comment to this entry to interact with either attendant. Players may specify which attendant that they'd like to interact with or allow the mods to choose. These threads may be used towards AC and bonus activity. However, due to the attention-intensive nature of NPC threads, these threads may be quickly wrapped up in order to save time for the mods.
→ VELVET ROOM ATTENDANTS
The attendant you might have to wake up, pretending to be asleep so you have to bother Souji instead of him. His requests tend towards what he wants to do or eat at the moment, but he seems to enjoy seeing the world, though he isn't always good company. Seriously. Go bother Souji instead.
The more talkative attendant between the two, though he could say some pretty bizarre things. He also seems overly fond of cats for some reason and will unironically go "nya". His requests normally seem to involve taking him out somewhere or bringing him particularly... strange objects.

[ All of it has worn off by now, so Terry is a-okay for the most part. He still has no SP, but fuck SP. It'll come back eventually. He puts his glasses away in its case and puts that in his pocket. ]
Do you have anything in the Velvet Room though? Ropes, boards, whatever.
no subject
Hm... Probably. Belts and bow string, maybe. Souji's got a pretty large cutting board, but he'll probably be upset if we use that. We can look around and see.
[ Time to head back to the Velvet Room, which will lead to Terry's room so they can drip water over his floor first and take down some more curtains. ]
no subject
Hm... You don't have a supply closet or anything?
no subject
[ Nothing very useful, he thinks as he shuffles his feet to wipe his shoes clean, but they can check it out too. But before that, he pats the table in Terry's room. ]
Would this work?
no subject
[ If only this was like final fantasy and someone had a float spell. ]
no subject
[ Maybe? There's definitely some sort of rope around here, but for some reason, slabs of wood are hard to come by, huh? ]
I guess we can take the bathroom door...
no subject
Suddenly he feels really bad for Souji. ]
Is there really nothing else...?
no subject
[ Souji's fine. ]
no subject
I can go chop one real quick. Gimme the axe.
no subject
[ He trots off to his own room, with the half-filled closet and empty floor, and comes back with this thing because it's the only one with an image I already had on hand. It's P3's executioner's axe, and there's blood rusted all over the blades on both ends. ]
Here.
no subject
... Did you kill someone with this a long time ago?
[ Why else would there be blood?? Shadows don't bleed!! ]
no subject
[ He really doesn't know, but it's still very possible, because that sure is old human blood that's been there for so long, he couldn't scrub it off without also chipping off pieces of the metal. At least the edges are still very sharp, so it can be used to behead people humanely. ]
Is it okay?
no subject
[ He has no morals against killing people he doesn't care about, so he'll just leave it at that and take the axe with him to the forest in the rain.
...
He comes back a while later, coming with several logs of wood with the axe. Though he has to ditch the axe at the portal because super strength is no longer a thing in the Velvet Room and he doesn't want to cause an accident with it. He dumps the logs on the table and then brings the axe back into the room. ]
Is this enough?
no subject
Looks like enough... But you'd know better than me, I think.
[ Minato sifts through the pile to lay the logs out side by side, trying to estimate how many planks they'll be able to get out of the pile and how big a raft would be. They'll also have to bind everything together with the rope they still haven't found, and he's starting to think it would have been easier to just take the bathroom door and put it back later. ]
no subject
[ He just stares at the logs for a moment. ]
Maybe we can... can it in half vertically and strap your feet to them?
no subject
Let's try it out. If it doesn't work, we'll think of something else. I'll go try to find rope while you do that.
no subject
...
Looks like he didn't need them, after all. ]
no subject
Minato takes a little longer to come back, but when he does, it's with an assortment of rope-like objects for Terry to choose from. ]
Okay... Which do you think would work best?
[ There's a plain black belt, three pairs of shoe laces Minato definitely pulled out of shoes, a white silk scarf, a cord that used to be connected to something but it's just insulated wiring at the end now, a plastic jump rope, and a roll of duct tape Minato supposes they can wrap around his feet to tape them in place if they can't find suitable rope. ]
no subject
[ Yeah!! This is what he has decided, and he has no idea what he's doing, but yolo. ]
no subject
[ Minato goes ahead and steps onto the the wood, roughly in the center and picks up the belt. The belt, at least, has the holes right there to keep the belt from unraveling, as weak as it is. The cord is kind of stiff and might be hard to tie in a knot, so Minato leaves that to Terry while he tapes up the one foot. ]
I'll tape your hand to the jump rope so you won't let go either.
no subject
[ He wasn't planning on letting go, but that's fine if it helps Minato relax. Terry lowers himself while getting the cord and half of a log to tie it around Minato's other foot. Please don't kick him.
Or kick his face to get another memory.]This cord is pretty stiff... I'll probably have to use duct tape for this too.
no subject
He nods and hands the roll over after he wraps his foot ten times around with the tape. Probably didn't even need the belt, but it's extra insurance, like him taping their hands to the jump rope because if Minato falls, he's going to take Terry down with him. ]
no subject
Hold on, if the tape chunk is too wide, it might block off how water skis are supposed to go.
[ Does Terry know water physics? No. But after tying the cord tight, he'll apply some duct tape on that foot too. Not ten times, but... it's something. ]
At least, if you fall for some reason, you won't sink.
no subject
[ Minato flops over onto his side so he can reach for the axe while keeping his feet still so he doesn't smack Terry in the face. ]
It won't fall apart 'cause it's sticky, so maybe you can use this to shave off the extra bits. Make it more aerodynamic, or something.
[ Just... imagine the wad of tape as more wood and chisel it down into the right shape and do your best not to chop off any toes ]
no subject
Terry looks so bewildered at the sight of the axe because of what Minato is asking him to do. ]
I can't do any shaving for anything with that huge axe!! Axes are made to chop stuff, not shave things!
[ AAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa he'll just use his scissors instead. Yeah, those healing scissors. At least they still work like normal ones as he trims some of the tape off. ]
